Senior Manager, Resource Development

The Senior Manager, Resource Development will lead the process of donor identification, cultivation and stewardship for public and private sector fundraising for Habitat for Humanity International -Bangladesh (HFHB) office. Together with the Senior Management Team, the role holder will develop and implement fund raising strategies for different donors and partners, mainly Foundations, Organizations and Institutional (FOI) donors and Corporations in Bangladesh, regionally and globally.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Leadership and Supervision

  • As Head of the Resource Development Department, participate actively in Senior Management Team, providing strategic and programmatic analysis and feedback to make high-level decisions in achieving the organizational mission of providing sustainable housing solutions in Bangladesh.
  • Lead the development and implementation of resource development and communications strategies to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission and strategic plan in Bangladesh.
  • Provide oversight, support and management of Resource Development and Communications staff members, including job performance, planning, goal-setting, monitoring, feedback, evaluation, and development.
  • Ensure regular communications and technical support to the team and relevant departments (Finance, HR, Program, etc.) to avoid misunderstanding and guarantee good internal coordination.

B. Resource Development:

  • Lead the process of donor identification, cultivation and stewardship for public and private sector fundraising, including Foundations, Organizations and Institutions (FOI), and corporation in Bangladesh, regionally and globally.
  • Collaborate across departments and lead donor prepositioning in Bangladesh, lead the coordination and submission of quality proposals, and, in coordination with internal stakeholders/relevant program staffs, submission of timely donor reports.
  • Develop annual resource development plan for the Bangladesh office and establish appropriate short- and long-term goals in partnership with fundraising teams across the Habitat network.
  • Develop strong relationships with Habitat Affiliates through strong communications materials and information sharing to increase potential with Tithe fund opportunities.
  • Oversee all aspects of donor compliance, including managing agreements, requirements, and ensuring that the HFHB is proactively following up on requirements and sharing any risks/issues that arise in timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to formulate effective new ideas and innovative strategies for program development or partnership opportunities in alignment with the HFHB’s strategy and standards.
  • Work closely with HFHB Programs team and technical experts in developing competitive project proposals to increase funding opportunities and maximize impact.
  • Build HFHB representation, visibility and attractivity by promoting and sharing HFHB vision and strategy during key meetings with donors, partners, and peer organizations.
  • Maintain close relationship with donors and peer organizations to explore other fundraising potentials like being in a consortium together.

C. Monitoring and Reporting

  • Lead the design and implementation of a monitoring and evaluation plan for HFHB fundraising efforts locally, regionally, and globally.
  • Work with the MEAL and Program teams to ensure that programs and projects are competitive and aligned with donor trends and priorities, while keeping true to HFHB’s mission and focus on housing.

E. Others:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of local, state, and national trends, demographics, and issues related to nonprofits, fundraising and mission-critical issues.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the cultural and situational diversity of the donors and organizations.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the National Director, AP RD Director, and AP Communications Director.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Education

  • Master’s degree in Marketing/ Management/ Social Science/ Public Relations/ Development Studies/ International Relations/ Media and Communications.

2. Experience

  • Minimum 8 years working experience, including 5-6 years in managerial position in a fundraising role with Development Organizations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience researching, developing, and writing successful fundraising proposals and donor reports for non-profit organizations.
  • At least 3 years’ experience developing and managing successful proposals with Foundations, Organizations and Institutional (FOI) donors.

3. Competencies

  • Proven ability to develop complex and winning proposals, including guiding the project planning and proposal development process.
  • Direct experience in successfully securing funding from bi-lateral, multi-lateral, and/or corporate donors.
  • Sound knowledge on strategic and operational planning.
  • Proven networking and liaison skills with multilateral / bilateral donor agencies, as well as national and international non-profit organizations.
  • Humanitarian working experience and understanding of UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
  • Advance skills in MS Office software and internet operations.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills, both English and Bengali.
  • Able to perform strategic planning including setting organizational objectives, overseeing competitive analysis, strategy communication and opportunity recognition in the for profit or non-profit sector.
  • Able to design and coordinate detailed business planning that defines the implementation of strategic plans through a given period, with clearly defined metrics and outcomes.
  • Results-driven and team player with highly developed interpersonal skills and communication skills including influencing, negotiation, and coaching.
  • Understanding of international humanitarian aid systems and agencies.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse background and cultures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills.

COMPENSATION & OTHER BENEFITS:

Salary Range: BDT146,000 to 180,000/-
Negotiable based on competency of the selected candidate with all other regular benefits as per organizational policy.
