Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit faith based organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide established in 1976, has been active in more than 77 countries and territories. HFHI’s vision ‘a world where everyone has a decent place to live’ and mission is to promote sustainable development and adequate housing for all, by working in partnership with local people and organizations regardless of caste, race, ethnicity or religion. HFHI’s program gives low-income people a unique opportunity to improve their lives.
Habitat for Humanity International-Bangladesh (HFHB) was established in 1999 and operates through project offices and partners to provide support to those most in need. We work closely with communities, volunteers, partner’s organizations, NGOs and government, taking a holistic approach to development. To date Habitat Bangladesh served more than 13,000 families by hardware and more than 80,000 individuals through trainings under regular housing, WaSH, DRR and urban programs.
Habitat for Humanity Bangladesh (HfHB) and Caritas Bangladesh (CB), with the support of Caritas Switzerland (CaCH), has been jointly implementing the project titled “Empowering the vulnerable in six urban slums by building resilience to everyday and disaster risks (Urban DRR Project: P_160047)” to increase the resilience of dwellers in six urban slums in Dhaka and Khulna in the face of disasters, climate change and socio-economic vulnerability. The objective of this activity is to develop the capacity of its project staff on existing and emerging issues of urban development. The main objective of this training is to develop the knowledge and skill of the Urban DRR project staff on urban development issues for efficient and effective implementation of the project activities.
It’s just like a partnership short time assignment in the project. As from this project will see the staff capacity develop (knowledge and skill) on urban development issues for efficient and effective implementation of the project activities which mentioned above. The consultant is expected to begin work from June 9, 2019
