JOB TITLE : Assistant Manager
REPORTS TO : Project Manager
FUNCTION : Project Development assistance
LOCATION : Grameen Shakti, Head Office
PURPOSE STATEMENT:
“Consultancy and Knowledge Practice” department of Grameen Shakti implement development project with focus on renewable energy or energy efficient technology/solution or model, climate
change, environmental conservation, gender quality, with an overall objective of enhancing social
bottom line. The key purpose of this position is to work in the department as an active member, to
meet the departmental objectives. S/he will mainly contribute to acquire projects, as well as to secure national and international funds for different development projects, by sourcing relevant
information, developing project proposal and submit the same, along with attending the associated
needful. S/he will also assist in implementation and supervision of the acquired/ongoing projects.
S/he will closely work with Grameen Options-a partnership between Grameen Shakti and Yunus
Thailand.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Source information for acquiring projects
- Project design, conceptualization and implementation planning as per available opportunities
- Developing concept notes, project proposals and progress reports
- Develop and execute fundraising strategy
- Research and identify new funding sources
- Write effective fundraising applications in response to calls for proposals and/or to potential funding entity.
- Prepare and ensure the timely submission of project proposal
- Assist in operational activities
- Network building for the organization through enlisting in national/international networks / platform and building new partnership with potential stakeholder
- Field survey, impact assessment and project evaluation
- Plan and organize different operational and administrative activities of Grameen Option, a collaboration of Grameen Shakti and Yunus Thailand
- Prepare and submit progress report of different projects as per the format and requirement of the project entity
- Prepare and submit monthly/annual departmental progress report ensuring both quantitative and qualitative aspects of the ongoing activities
- Perform other duties relevant to the Project Development department, as required.
- maintain appropriate relationship with cross-functional departments
- Maintaining regular liaison with different stakeholders
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies
- Perform all additional duties or responsibilities as assigned by the organization
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
i. Context/Environment
The incumbent has to have the softer skill of understanding the Development Sector, at the same time the issues related to the communities so that right solution combining the components like technology, finance and so on could be conceived. Self-motivation and self-education would be key to produce required result in the context environment.
ii. Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Knowledge: Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Social development, Concept development, Project management
Skill : Analytical, Communication, Computer applications, and Management
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized university or equivalent
Experience: At least 3 years of work experience in the development sector, 2. hands on skills in project proposal writing

- Ability to quickly understand new ideas and concepts
- The incumbent is expected to have excellent fluency in written and oral communication skills in English.
- Periodic field visit outside Dhaka will require
