Chief Technology Office - CTO


Job Description
Responsible for the information technology strategy of the company, tech infrastructure, and DevOps of our platform, you will be required to be a hands-on technology leader. You will function as a pragmatic technology head and advisor with a holistic comprehension of the tech landscape. It is expected that you can engage with members of executive teams and client management.

As a technology lead, you will have a broad range of responsibilities:

  • Leading all our technology efforts and work side by side with our co-founders to align the vision with our technology.
  • Work alongside our external partners to deliver high calibre products to the market.
  • Provide advice and contribute to Information technology architecture;
  • Participation in external workgroups and contact with providers;
  • Support main IT changes and IT projects based upon the client’s security expertise and with an adequate risk analysis
  • Guarantee usage and conformity of projects according to Information technology methodologies and rules;
  • Lead and be the single point of contact for all technology initiatives.
  • Build and manage a team of developers/engineers in the delivery of all technology and DevOps activities.

About you

  • You feel comfortable communicating with business people and leading tech teams.
  • You are a pragmatic developer and willing to roll up your sleeves and get your hand dirty in the interest of getting things done

Desired Experience & Skills

  • 6+ years of software development experience;
  • 6+ years of leading tech teams;
  • Academic degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and design patterns as well as troubleshooting and debugging;
  • Linux for servers administration combined with hands-on experience,  system configuration, provisioning (AWS certification is a plus, Docker, Kubernetes and related technologies);
  • Understanding of BI and reporting tools;
  • Experience in single-page- app development is a plus;
  • Experience in API and micro-services development (SpringBoot, Spring Cloud, Zuul, Eureka, Redis, WSO2,...);
  • Experience in big data sciences and technology (Hadoop, Flink is a plus, Kafka, Cassandra, or similar…);
  • Experience in programming languages PHP,  and willing to bring other stacks as it progresses - Perl, Python, Java, SQL, …;
  • Open personality and superior communication skills to lead both, the process and the people in transforming an idea into a successful implementation;
  • Fluent in English.
