Good Neighbors (1991) is an international humanitarian, development and non-governmental organization with membership in General Consultative Status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC). Winner of MDG 2 award 2007 and UNESCO-Hamdan Prize for Teacher Development 2024, Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) is operating 17 Community Development Projects (CDP) and 2 Projects with Specific Program (PSP) in 13 districts for child protection, education, health, women empowerment, income generating activities, DRR and Rohingya emergency response activities. Good Neighbors Bangladesh (GNB) intends to recruit suitable personnel for the following positions:

Project Name: “Enhancing Protection of women and girls through comprehensive GBV Prevention and Response service in the Rohingya Camp and Host Community”

2. Basic Requirement:
Education Required: BSc. / Diploma in Civil Engineering from any recognized university/Institution or other related discipline.

Age: Age maximum 40 years (as on 31 December 2024)

Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in NGO/INGO setting (experience on implementing Sexual and reproductive health and/or Gender focused projects in emergency and working with internally displaced people)

Preference: Only qualified ‘Male’ candidates are eligible to apply.

Salary and Others: Salary Package for this role is 62,160 BDT (Consolidated)

Contract Period: 12 Months

Details about Job Responsibilities

1.

Primary Responsibilities (Planning and Implementation of Program Activities)

  • Understanding the design and construction thoroughly; Must have ability to handle a project.
  • Preparing information regarding design, structure, specifications, materials,

equipment, estimated costs and construction time as per organizational concept

 

 

  • Work closely with the site sub-contractor engineer, need assessment and vendor selection, construction budget forecasting and expenses
  • Analyze the contractor's construction works, to ensure timely completion of works as per planned schedule
  • Co-ordinate and solve construction related problems by consulting with Head office and sub-contractor
  • Day to day implementation monitoring G supervision of site work till the completion of plan schedule
  • In depth knowledge on project budget G cost forecasting, inventory management G analysis on construction
  • Quality of construction materials used and proper curing G nurturing of construction
  • Purchase science lab apparatus and other scientifically equipment as per project need Meeting with stakeholders and liaison with local govt.
  • Proper communication with vendors and contractors, Regular correspondents with Head office
  • Prepare day to day report and weekly progress report and send it to Head Office after completing every single of part
  • Target plan for achieving the project goal, Maintain all relevant documents properly with evidence, Other responsibility as per management decision

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Sound knowledge on GBV core concepts and humanitarian principles
  • Have good leadership, conflict management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
  • Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
  • Experience in working with communities and local governments, INGOs and other key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.

  • Any other duties required by project authorities.

5. Capacity Requirement:

  • Experience of supervising field staff required.
  • Sound knowledge in Micro-soft office and English language (Speaking & writing).
  • Strong knowledge of IASC GBV Guidelines and Gender Handbook, Humanitarian Principles, IASC Protection, GBV and CP minimum standards and guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of case management principles, procedures, and practices, psychosocial support and life skills programming to promote survivor healing and recovery.
  • Must be comfortable to attend and facilitate internal/external meetings, representing GBV issues.
  • Practical field experience working in camps or spontaneous/informal/makeshift settlements required.
  • Strong organizational skills, deadline-oriented, composed under pressure, adept at prioritizing tasks, coordinating multiple responsibilities, and maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and without judgment; good diplomatic and persuasion skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks; proven self-initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • REQUIRED: Fluent communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla, Rohingya/Chattogram.
  • Strong belief in and commitment to human rights and gender equality.
  • Willingness to live and work in difficult and rapidly changing conditions.
  • Constructive and pro-active communication with a wide variety of actors and stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude towards social service and adaptability to organizational vision and values
