Job Context

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as an HR Manager/Assistant Manager. Reporting directly to the Head of HR and working closely with the Country Manager(s), she/he will be responsible for the full spectrum of HR activities in our Bangladesh office.

Based in UAE with offices in Dhaka, Hong Kong and Istanbul. GMS has its own in-house creative and production teams for different product groups and the best sourcing solution hub for different brands all over the world.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Country Manager (s) to identify and understand hiring needs, and act as a trusted business partner.
  • Supervise recruitment as required in conjunction with team members.
  • Maintain and administer an efficient and systematic procedure/system to securely store all HR records and confidential materials.
  • Conduct market research and data analysis to prepare management and analysis reports for annual benchmarking on compensation packages, medical insurance schemes, job grading, and evaluation.
  • Ensure the HR lifecycle of employees is managed in accordance with external standards as well as what works for us and advise senior management on staff attraction and retention strategies.
  • Support line managers through the performance review & development cycle, including performance improvement plans and development needs analysis.
  • Expected to advise, guide, and support staff in people and culture related functions and serve as principal advisor to senior leadership on to develop and implement strategic people policy and processes aligned to organizational objectives and provide thought leadership on people management and retention best practices.
  • Identify training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and the human resources department.
  • Design, expand and manager training and development programs based on the needs of the organization and the individual.
  • Provide assistance to expatriates on work visa processing, relocation, housing arrangements, and PD arrangement.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in a similar position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels of an organization.
  • Analytical skills to identify training needs and learning gaps of the individual or group.
  • Strong understanding of Bangladesh labor laws and regulations.
  • Possess excellent presentation, communication skill and language proficiency in English.
  • Highly organized, self-disciplined, focused, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude and integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Educational Requirements

  • Have at least a bachelor’s degree preferably in HRM/Business Administration/Management.

Experience Requirements

  • 5 to 7 year(s)
  • Experience in multinational buying house or similar organizational structure is a plus.
