GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “INTERN” under HR Unit of GIZ Office Dhaka who are attending a course of further study of which the completion of an internship is an integral component or have graduated no more than six months before commencing the internship.

Contract Duration: Six Months.

A. Responsibilities:

The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Work as part of the HR team to learn general HR process execution of the GIZ Office Dhaka in the area of Human Resource Management. This applies for all of the projects being implemented by GIZ.
  • Learning by supporting the Human Resource Unit in various processes so that all activities are executed in an effective and timely manner.
  • Learning and following all GIZ rules and regulations and keeping all sensitive information strictly confidential.

In this context, Intern will perform the following tasks:

B. Tasks:

Recruitment and Learning & Development Support

  • Provide logistical and administrative assistance in the organization and scheduling of the recruitment process.
  • Support the coordination and preparation of necessary documentation related to candidate interviews.
  • Assist in the logistical arrangements and coordination of internal training sessions and workshops.

Personnel Records Management and Filing

  • Maintain and update the physical personnel files for all national staff (NMA) in strict compliance with GIZ procedures and guidelines.
  • Systematically compile, organize, and label files according to the established GIZ filing system architecture.
  • Collect and consolidate required personnel data from the GIZ Country Office and various projects.
  • Ensure accurate and timely filing of hard-copy reports and relevant staff certifications.

General HR Administration

  • Provide assistance in the drafting and preparation of various official HR-related correspondence and documentation.
  • Support the team in the efficient processing of financial documentation and bills.
  • Assist in and/or undertake other administrative tasks and ad-hoc activities as delegated by the supervisor.

C. Required qualifications, competences and experience

Academic qualifications

  • Graduates of Business Administration (BBA) from, a recognized university, preferably major in Human Resources Management (HRM).

Additional competencies

  • Demonstrated administrative or organizational experience through academic projects, student leadership, or previous internships) will be a plus
  • Competency in utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for professional document preparation and data management.
  • Attention to detail and proven organizational skills to maintain rigorous filing systems and manage high volumes of confidential data
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential personnel information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Standard written and verbal communication skills in English and Bangla is essential.

Learning Area

  • Practical understanding of the procedural steps and administrative requirements involved in the recruitment process.
  • Developing skills in maintaining, organizing, and ensuring the integrity and compliance of confidential employee personnel files.
  • Idea of preparing professional HR letters and documents.
