GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Junior IT Specialist” from candidates under GIZ Office Dhaka.

A. Responsabilités
- Supporting day-to-day IT operations and ensuring the smooth functioning of systems.
- Providing technical support to staff, troubleshooting issues, and escalating when required.
- Assisting with the administration of IT infrastructure, applications, and databases.
- Maintaining IT documentation in line with GIZ standards and practices.
- Supporting the implementation of IT guidelines, security measures, and data protection regulations
B. The position holder is responsible for the following tasks
IT Support and Maintenance
- Monitor and respond to helpdesk tickets and provide timely support to end-users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and LAN/WAN connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot Windows, Office 365 and GIZ internal software.
- Install and configure laptops, IP telephone, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment as per GIZ Standard and Policy.
- Provide phone, remote, and in-person IT support as required.
- Support patch management and system updates.
- Coordinating the home internet connectivity setup for International Colleagues
System Administration
- Administration of Intune company portal for managing official Laptop
- Regular data backup, restoration, and recovery processes.
- Monitoring and reporting server room environment status.
- Assist users in setting up company profile on official Mobile device
- Monitoring Device status and Connectivity in Meraki Dashboard and act accordingly.
IT Asset and Documentation Management
- Maintain IT inventory (hardware, software, licenses) and update regularly.
- Keep technical documentation, procedures, and configurations up to date.
- Support in preparing IT-related reports for Head of IT.
- Document archiving related to IT in DMS/SharePoint
Security and Training
- Monitor network and Device security through Windows Defender Portal and act accordingly.
- Offer basic training or orientation on IT systems and tools.
- Awareness raising on Information Security
- IT/IS Security Incident reporting
Vendor and Procurement Support
- Assist in market surveys and vendor coordination for IT products and services.
- Support procurement processes by preparing technical specifications and evaluations.
- Communicating with IT service Providers in securing/restoring Services.
Other Duties
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor/management.
C. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/ information technology, or a related field.
- Practical knowledge of IT hardware, software, networking, and IT security.
Professional Experience
- 2 -3 years of relevant work experience in IT support or a related role.
Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of:
- Windows Server (2019/2022), Active Directory and group policies.
- LAN, WLAN, VPN, VLAN, firewall
- MySQL or MS SQL
- Laravel, CSS, HTML, React or similar
- Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services.
- Data Privacy and Protection
Additional Competencies
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and upskill as required.
