The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. GIZ supports the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, private sector development and technical education, biodiversity, as well as good governance and displacement.
For the ‘Socio-economic Support to Host and Displaced FDMN Communities in Cox’s Bazar (SHADE) project, GIZ requires the services of a consultant for capacity strengthening support to GIZ funded ACF-staff as well as project beneficiaries and other stakeholders in the area of Eco-friendly Entrepreneurship Development related issues and actions. GIZ is looking for a suitable Consultant which has extensive working experience in this field of the following competencies:
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in the development sector.
- 2 years’ experience working as Livelihood/ Entrepreneurship Development Specialist in the development and humanitarian context.
- 2 years’ experience in capacity development of GO, NGO, and market actors.
- Strong understanding of income enhancing programme such as skills development, micro-business. etc.
- Understanding the income opportunities in the host and FDMN communities in Cox’s Bazar.
- Proven commitment to gender equality and disability.
- Proven ability in self-organization, to work under pressure and deliver on time.
- A solid understanding of the cultural challenges of the FDMN and host communities.
- Willingness to travel and work in WhyKong and Hnila Unions of Teknaf Upazila and based/duty station in ACF office or GIZ facilities at any of these unions of Cox’s Bazar.
