The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. GIZ supports the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, private sector development and technical education, biodiversity, as well as good governance and displacement.

For the ‘Socio-economic Support for Host and Displaced Communities in Cox’s Bazar (SHADE) project, GIZ requires the services of a consultant for conducting GBV workshop with the target groups and supporting the implementation of demand-driven GBV prevention measures in the project intervention area. GIZ is looking for a suitable Consultant  Whykong , Teknaf , Cox’s Bazar) which has extensive working experience in this field of the following competencies:

  • At least 5 years of working experience with international donors/INGOs on similar assignments.
  • At least 3 years of working experience in conducting GBV-related workshop, campaign and awareness-raising sessions in the FDMN & Host community.
  • Experience in capacity building of Govt. and local administration authorities on gender core concept and gender-based violence.
  • Experience in developing and localizing Gender and GBV training modules.
  • Knowledge of the existing harmful gender norms of the local (Rohingya & Host) community.
  • A solid understanding of the GBV Prevention and Risk Mitigation measures practiced in the Humanitarian Context
  • A clear understanding of the Gender dynamics, GBV concept & context.
  • Strong understanding of international human rights, and protection issues.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of the local justice system (e.g., village court, arbitration, mediation, etc.).
  • Proven ability in self-organization, to work under pressure and deliver on time.
  • A solid understanding of the cultural challenges of the FDMN and host communities.
  • Willingness to travel and work in Whykong and Hnila Unions of Teknaf Upazila and based/duty station in GIZ facilities at any of these unions

Interested consultant with relevant and proven experience shall Submit Financial Proposal by 19th June 2025 by 4.00 PM in separate sealed envelopes to the reception desk of Simpletree Anarkali 4th floor Plot-3, Block - CWS(A) 89 Gulshan Avenue, Dhaka-1212, and Bangladesh. The envelopes shall be addressed to “Contracts, Procurement & IT Unit” denoted with remark “83489883- Conduct GBV workshop and Support implementation of demand-driven GBV prevention measures.
