GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, textile and leather sector, biodiversity, as well as good governance, displacement, and migration.
The purpose of the terms of reference for the assignment is to request proposals from a reputed Consulting Firm to design a feasible, scalable, and financially viable battery leasing model suited to the Bangladeshi context, with an initial focus on electric three-wheelers, buses and potential expansion to other vehicle segments. The model will focus on multiple scenario analysis with regards to the potential conversion of electric vehicles (EV) from using lead acid battery to lithium-ion battery based on key factors like financial viability, longevity, replacement cost etc.
GIZ is looking for a suitable Consulting Firm which has extensive working experience in this field with the following competencies:
- A team of at least 3 experts including 1 Team Leader, 1 Financial Modeller, and 1 EV Technology Expert with relevant experience as stipulated in the terms of reference.
- Pool of short-term enumerators as specified in the terms of reference.
- Team Leader with minimum 3 years of experience as a project team leader or manager.
- Financial Modeler with minimum 3 years of experience as a financial modeler.
- EV Technology Expert with minimum 3 years of experience as a technology/infrastructure expert.
- At least 3 positive references (preferably in the similar area of expertise/service provision).
- Knowledge and understanding about climate change, sustainable urban development and biodiversity issues.
- Government registration/ VAT registration
- Economic sustainability (3 years of audit report)
- Consulting Firm with these pre-requisite qualifications need to provide following documents:

- Company Portfolio including sample of works
- Technical -methodological concept
- Work Plan
- List of current client companies being serviced by the company
- All up-to-date Trade License document, with Tax Certificate
- Detailed CV of Proposed Expert/Experts
