The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. GIZ supports the German Government in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ has been working as a development partner of Bangladesh since 1972 under bilateral agreement. Currently, we are working in the areas of renewable energy, adaptation to climate change, private sector development and technical education, biodiversity, as well as good governance and displacement.
The current priority of German Development Cooperation (GDC) focuses on enhancing the resilience of particularly vulnerable population groups to the impacts of climate change. In this context, the governments of Bangladesh and Germany have agreed on a technical cooperation (TC) module titled "Strengthening Urban Integration Capacities of Internally Displaced Persons and Supporting Host Communities (INTEGRATE)." The objective of this TC module is to enhance the economic participation of women and persons with disabilities among disaster- and climate-induced internally displaced persons, as well as residents of host communities living in informal settlements in selected secondary cities (Rajshahi, Khulna, Satkhira, and Sirajganj) of Bangladesh.
In this TC module, GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Intern” from candidates who are attending a course of further study of which the completion of an internship is an integral component or have graduated no more than six months before commencing the internship.
