The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a federal enterprise with worldwide operations. For the team of our “Social Protection for Workers in the Textile and Leather Sector" SOSI project, we seek applications for the position “Information Technology Assistant” with focus on digitalization for labour administration.

A. Responsibilities
The position holder is responsible for:
- managing an area of responsibility that forms part of the programme objectives, team agreements and/or agreements with the superior
- assisting project/programme initiatives by providing professional advisory services to different target groups
- support supervisor on all tasks when implementing GIZ rules and regulations
- support supervisor in the field of project's planning, steering and monitoring
- contributing towards knowledge management
- take part in decisions that have a short-term effect within a limited project area/ unit
- assist supervisor to identify day-to-day problems and suggest appropriate solutions
The position holder is responsible for the following tasks:
B. Tasks
- Assist the Advisor ICT and Digitalization for labour administration for the implementation of a digital transformation process in alignment with the aforementioned project activities within the project partners structure (MoLE, DIFE, Central Fund, EIS Pilot and etc)
- Assisting in routine operation, implementation, and monitoring of application software i.e., LIMS, OpenIMIS, LFMEAB Systems, BIDA etc which are supported by GIZ
- Providing first-level support that includes receiving call from the user, provide technical support and logging service requests
- Support to ensure the Bangladesh National Digital Architecture (BNDA) guideline, GoB policy, comply with the local regulations and the EU data protection law for the digital solution supported by GIZ
- Maintain, update, databases and web pages (EIS Pilot) using front-end user enhanced web tools within prescribed guidelines ensure that GIZ values and principles are upheld
- Assist to develop the software/application related documentation throughout the SDLC
- Assist and maintain with vendor relations to monitor the work progress, change management, implementation of the systems as appropriate.
- Where appropriate and reasonable, assist in and/or carry out other activities and tasks, as assigned.
C. Required qualifications, competencies and experience
Academic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or related field
Professional experience
- 2 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience as programmer and systems architect of web-applications built on PHP/Laravel framework, using MySQL database
- Experience in maintaining website, data backup and customization
- Experience in taking notes for the meeting and assist to conduct the training
- Experience with preparing system documentations
- Experience in organizing events
Other knowledge, additional competences
- Good communication and inter-personal skills
- Fluency in English and Bangla language
- Expert knowledge on the use of MS Office suit specially MS Excel
- Knowledge on BNDA architecture, framework, and structure
- Knowledge on Principles for digital developments
- Knowledge on Vendor Management for IT Project
- Knowledge on information security specially ISO 27001
