For the Improved Coordination of International Climate Finance (ICICF) Project in Dhaka, GIZ requires the services of a Climate Finance Expert dedicated to the International Climate Finance Cell, established by the project at the Economic Relations Division (ERD), who will provide technical support in the functions of ICFC as well as contribute in specific topics like- financial instruments for climate projects, sustainable finance, mobilising investment from the private sector for climate change projects and channelling international climate funds in our country. GIZ is looking for suitable consultants with extensive working experience in this field with the following competencies:
General Qualifications
- Education/training: At least a master’s degree in finance, Development Studies, Economics, Social Science or any other relevant topic. A Doctoral Degree in the relevant topic is preferable.
- Language: Excellent communication and report-writing skills in English.
- General professional experience: Minimum 12 years of professional experience in the field of climate change, sustainable finance, economics and climate finance.
- Specific professional experience: At least 5 years of experience in research/ teaching experience related to climate change, climate finance, financial instruments etc. Publication in Climate Finance, Sustainable Finance, Environment, Financial Market, Financial Technology and Instruments, Green Banking and Sustainable Development will have added benefits.
Expertise in providing specialized training in financial simulation, financial markets, financial management, and project management, as well as participating in international research projects financed by international multilateral and bilateral organizations.
- Leadership/management experience: Experience in leading a research team is preferable.
- Regional experience: Experience working in Bangladesh/similar climate context will add value.
- Development Cooperation (DC) experience: Previous work experience with the Ministry of Finance, National Public organization, Academic institution, Multilateral or Bilateral Development Banks/ Development Partners is preferred.
- Other: Having previous experience in directly working with ERD on similar topics is preferred.

- A technical proposal on the understanding of the ToR (not more than 10 pages)
- Financial offer for main service (in a separate sealed envelope, the structure must correspond to the structure of the ToR)
- A detailed CV (not more than 03 pages)
