Request for expression of interest (EOI)

Selection of a national short-term expert for the assignment “National Sector Expert for supporting the development of energy use benchmark for selected industrial sectors”.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a global service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work to shaping a future worth living around the world. As a public-benefit Federal Government organisation, GIZ supports the German Government, particularly the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implementing development projects. In Bangladesh, GIZ is implementing the technical cooperation projects in the areas of energy, climate change, textile, human rights under the bilateral agreement, signed on 15 July 1972 between the Bangladesh and German Governments.

The Policy Advisory for Promoting Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (PAP) is a joint undertaking of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR), Government of Bangladesh, implemented by GIZ. Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) is the Government Counterpart of PAP.

GIZ is hereby requesting an EOI from experienced national consultants based in Bangladesh to provide expert services as a National Sector Expert for supporting the development of energy use benchmark for selected industrial sectors in Bangladesh. The eligible expert shall have adequate qualification and experience required to implement the activities mentioned in the Terms of Reference (ToR).

Interested individuals with qualifications can collect the detailed Terms of Reference (ToR) by email through contract-bangladesh@giz.de. Email Subject line should be: “Inquiry – 83419723- Supporting the development of energy use benchmark for selected industrial sectors”. Interested individuals with relevant and proven experience shall submit Technical Proposal and Financial Proposal by 12th of October 2022 as per the given instructions in ToR.
