Request for expression of interest (EOI)

Selection of a national short-term expert for the assignment ‘Development of a Coordination Strategy for Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Sectors in Bangladesh’.

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a global service provider in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development and international education work to shaping a future worth living around the world. As a public-benefit Federal Government organisation, GIZ supports the German Government, particularly the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) implementing development projects. In Bangladesh, GIZ is implementing the technical cooperation projects in the areas of energy, climate change, textile, human rights under the bilateral agreement, signed on 15 July 1972 between the Bangladesh and German Governments.

The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme (REEEP II) is a joint undertaking of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources (MPEMR), Government of Bangladesh, implemented by GIZ. Sustainable and Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) is the Government Counterpart of REEEP II.

GIZ is hereby requesting an EOI from experienced national consultants based in Bangladesh to provide expert services in ‘Development of a coordination strategy for Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Sectors- in Bangladesh’. The eligible expert shall have adequate qualification and experience required to develop such strategy, and provide necessary orientation, and training to relevant key stakeholders to implement the strategy according to the Terms of Reference (ToR).

The ToR is to be collected by email: maniruzzaman.sardar@giz.de, from GIZ Energy Cluster Finance and Administration Unit with the subject line ‘ToR- Sector Coordinator Strategy’.

Proposal shall include i) Cover letter, ii) Updated CV (not more than 4 pages), iii) Essay on the topic mentioned in ToR (not more than 2 pages), iv) Technical Offer, v) Financial Offer, and other relevant documents (e.g. TIN certificate), according to ToR, and be submitted by 17:00 hours, local time on 30 September 2021 to the above-mentioned email address. The email shall be addressed to ‘Finance and Administration Unit, GIZ Energy Cluster’ with the subject line ‘Proposal- Sector Coordinator Strategy’.
