GIZ Bangladesh is currently seeking applications for the position of “Intern” from candidates who are attending a course of further study of which the completion of an internship is an integral component or have graduated no more than six months before commencing the internship.

A. Responsibilities
The incumbent position holder is responsible for:

  • Assist the Unit in implementing procedures as required, specifically for operational and administrative tasks
  • Assist in Facility and Office Management related issue
  • Support in Archiving/labelling and file management
  • Knowledge management by disseminating and documenting know-how, experience and information
  • Support in preparing relevant documents for expatriate support services

In this context, the position holder fulfils the following tasks:

B. Tasks
1. Accounting and Financial services
The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Receiving Invoices and check compliance issues
  • VAT/TDS voucher copy and deposit to Govt treasury
  • Perform monthly Bank reconciliation
  • Supports in financial monitoring of the projects (e.g. monthly cost and expenditure reports)
  • Is involved in following up the Internal control observations with projects against set/agreed timeline
  • manages financial administration; i.e. arranging and facilitating payments and confirming vouchers
  • Send/track vouchers and financial documents
  • Comply with organization SOP

2. Inventory Management
The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Support to inventory management such as ensure inventory number tag, re-location the inventory items as per requirement

3. General services
The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Preparation documents and follow protocol of sending file to GIZ-HQ
  • Archiving/labelling and management of C file vouchers in line with GIZ PuR
  • Receiving/sending document to CO

4. Other duties/additional tasks
The position holder will be responsible for:

  • Reports all problems related to accounting, financial administration and/or compliance without delay
  • Participates in project and finance team meetings to understand their needs to be able to provide support
  • Performs other duties and tasks at the request of supervisor

C. Required qualifications, competences and experience

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) major in (Accounting/Finance)

Professional experience

  • N/A

Other knowledge, additional competences

  • Willing to get familiarized of GIZ’s Code of Conduct
  • Good command of English (written/verbal)
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A good team player
  • Ability to work on own initiative
