EoT FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCEMENT

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Bangladesh offers the Economy of Tomorrow (EoT) fellowship for graduates and young researchers. The programme is designed to support the development of research and policy papers that contribute to socially just, gender-equal, and sustainable economic growth in Bangladesh. Participants receive guidance from experienced professors throughout the fellowship, fostering academic excellence and impactful policy recommendations. The EoT fellowship promotes democratic values and inclusive transformation in pursuit of a fairer economic future.

2026 Theme- Policies for the Future of the Fashion Industry in Bangladesh

Guiding Questions:

  1. What initiatives are there to move up and expand the value chain? What is their potential, what are their successes and obstacles? How are they affected by politics?
  2. How is Bangladesh responding to international trends demanding greater ecological sustainability and social responsibility? What are political and business responses, and how do they align or interact?
  3. Why is Bangladesh lagging behind India and Pakistan in garment recycling, despite a larger garment industry?
  4. What opportunities and barriers do entrepreneurs and manufacturers, young designers face when innovating within the fashion sector?
  5. How does Bangladesh's textile and craft heritage interact with the contemporary fashion industry?
  6. How does politics promote or prevent ecological, social and productive development of the fashion industry?

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Students who already passed their Bachelor’s/Master’s or early career researchers/teachers.
  2. Maximum age limit of the applicants is 30.
  3. Bangladeshi students from related subjects studied in Bangladesh or abroad. 
  4. The students and researchers must be in Bangladesh during their fellowship.
  5. Both the individual and group are encouraged to apply.
