at Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Bangladesh

Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) is a German non-profit organisation which is committed to the ideas and values of Social Democracy: liberty, justice and solidarity. Established in March 2013, FES Bangladesh has completed the first decade. In Bangladesh, FES promotes socially and ecologically sustainable economic policies, participation and international cooperation through research, capacity building initiatives and exchanging knowledge with partnerships with the government, the trade union movement, civil society, think tanks, academia, and media. FES Bangladesh is advocating for policy changes in three thematic areas: Economic Policy, Energy and Climate Justice, and Geopolitics.

Eligibilities:

  • Fresh graduates from the universities. A study background in Social Science development studies, law, economics, finance, public administration, gender studies, environmental studies, or international relations has proven to be the most advantageous.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills in both Bangla and English.
  • Fundamental knowledge of MS-word, MS-excel and MS-power point.
  • Understanding of principles of social democracy
  • Enhanced knowledge of at least any one of the prime areas of activity of FES: Labour relations; Gender justice; Economic policy, Geopolitics, Climate justice

Job Description:
The intern/s will get opportunities to gain hands-on experiences by contributing to the proper implementation of FES programmes and projects and will be assigned to support to his/her supervisor to:

  • Assist team to organise events, including meetings, seminar, training, and workshop;
  • Support to plan, and coordinate outreach and communication activities with partners and participants;   
  • Maintain records, keep tracking of budget expenses and ensure authenticity of bills and vouchers;  
  • Prepare documentation and assist with administrative tasks as per need.
  • Assist to procure programme logistics, and provide them to the partners and participants as per need; 
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas  
  • Review literature, and do online research for gathering information and check the data validity;
  • Support Finance and Admin department when needed.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities delegated or advised by the Supervisors.

Location: Dhaka, but willing to travel across the country

Duration: 03 months

Reporting to: Programme Advisor

Compensation: This is a paid internship opportunity. Therefore, FES Bangladesh will offer an allowance as per its financial guideline.
