1. Introduction:

Food for the Hungry (FH) is an international organization that seeks to end ALL forms of human poverty by going to the hard places and walking with the world’s most vulnerable people. For fifty years, FH has been serving through purposeful relief and development. FH believes in the fight against poverty, that is why we serve the vulnerable in over twenty countries globally.

FH is planning to implement a climate smart village model approach in its working area to reduce the vulnerability of climate-affected people through smart climate adaptation technology and livelihood options. The climate smart village (CSV) approach is agriculture research for development approach to test, through participatory methods, technological and institutional options for dealing with climate change in agriculture. It aims to generate evidence at local scales of what climate-smart agricultural options work best, where, why and how and use this evidence to draw out lessons for policy makers, agricultural development practitioners and investors from local to global levels.

FHB is looking for a consultant/consulting farm to conduct a climate smart village (CSV) Approach assessment in the FHB Area Programs viz Rajshahi, Chapai, Ukhiya and Borguna to provide a climate smart village approach with a set of detailed interventions.

Objective of the Assessment:

The overall objective of this assignment is to conduct a climate smart village approach assessment of the FHB Area Programs in Bangladesh and propose a set of recommendations in terms of climate smart village approach initiated and implemented at different parts of Africa and Asia and South Asia continents that can be feasibly implemented by smallholder farmers/farmers groups to increase their resilience and adaptation to climate change.
