  Job Responsibility
  • To contribute in the development of, in consultation with the MHPSS Team, the Client strategy in Cox’s Bazar for provision of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services both in Levels 3 (Focused non-specialized services) and 4 (Specialized services) as per IASC guidelines, community-based sensitive approach for people with mental disorders –and apply it in the context of Cox’s Bazar
  • To set up an ethic and confidential service and formalize inclusion of Client levels 3 and 4 services (e.g. psychological first aid, stress counselling, brief therapies, solution focused therapy, trauma focused psychotherapy, EMDR, group IPT) in relevant referral pathways and networks in the campsites in Cox’s Bazar, customize it to local context and sensitize partners to the service ToRs, modalities of referral and methodologies
  • To design and provide tailored psychotherapeutic interventions, customize to adults, children, youth, caregivers and families residing in Ukhya and Teknaf.
  • To assist in the coordination of complex cases with the MHPSS Specialist and Senior Counsellors
  • To identify qualified stau/volunteers, provide capacity building and supervise the Client mobile teams comprised of cou sellors, facilitators/ animators in providing focused non-specialized services for individuals, caregivers and support groups
  • To maintain appropriate records/database of assessments and any clinical/casework undertaken, and collect and collate statistics for analysis and sharing of information for weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • To participate in relevant technical meetings and the camp site level as part of the MHPSS WG in Cox’s Bazar and to build euective relationships with referrers and other key partner organizations
  • To proactively conduct updated assessments and analyze the context and propose interventions to enable expansion of both Client’s geographic coverage to the host community in Ukhya and Teknaf and thematic coverage within the camp sides, (e.g. psychosocial support in Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS), livelihood interventions for youth and women, Educational Psychology for children etc.)
  • To undertake missions in other key locations of the Country and explore potential to apply the Client’s strategy for focused services (levels 3 and 4) and provide either direct services or technical support to direct service providers
  • To perform and other duties as may be needed and agreed with the MHPSS Project Ouicer

  Educational & Experience Requirement
  • Completed a Post-graduate studies in clinical psychology or Psychiatry with two years of relevant professional experience
  • Post graduate studies in emergency psychology an asset
  • Experience in clinical psychological and psychotherapeutic interventions in emergencies.
  • Experience in providing services to displaced populations, migrants, refugees or conflict auected populations
  • Significant experience in providing clinical supervision, coaching, and mentoring to national stau and non-specialists
  • Experience and knowledge of UN and international agencies structures.
  • Experience in capacity building activities and curriculum development is an advantage.
  • Operational and field experience in health-related issues of migrated and/or displaced persons, programme development, migration health, including conceptualization, analysis and implementation of programme; International public health and resource mobilization;
  • Previous experience in international organization is an advantage.
  • Skill in strengthening service delivery programs, training, performance and quality improvement and monitoring and evaluation
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentations skills in English
  • Ability to travel up to 90% time
