Educo is a global development and humanitarian NGO based in Barcelona, Spain with around 30-years of working experience in 14 countries. Since 1999, in Bangladesh we have been implementing development programs in the marginalized urban and rural areas and with time we expanded our works to broader geographical areas. Currently, Educo Bangladesh is implementing large number of development and humanitarian projects which are funded by different internal and external donors; like KOIKA, EU/UNOPS, Child Fund Alliance, ADEY, Barnfonden, AECID, Mango etc. in various districts of Bangladesh.

Purpose

The main purpose of ‘Education Coordinator’ is to provide technical support to the education sector - quality program operations, guidance and quality assurance and compliance for achieving the program target of Educo Bangladesh.

The Education Coordinator will design and represent the education sector of Educo in line with Global Impact Framework (GIF), Global Programmatic framework (GPF) /Country Programmatic Framework (CPF).  The position will provide technical guidance to design, implement and monitor Education Programs to the staff managing the projects in the field. S/he will provide technical guidance in designing, assuring compliance and quality of the projects.

S/he will provide technical support to partners and operational team for quality implementation of Education project related activities at field level and act as technical focal point of Educo Bangladesh for Education, Quality Assurance and Compliance.

Engagement

  • The Education Coordinator will be accountable to achieve the meaningful results of education program including Education in Emergency (EiE) by effective and efficient utilization of related Educo project team and partners including networks, forums and CSOs to create shared vision and enhance the organization’s visibility at each level.
  • Keep smooth coordination with projects focal, Director of program, Country management and Head Office that meet Educo' standards, policy & regulations and supporting quality programming.
  • Maintain regular communication with Government entitles, network and PNGOs to ensure quality program outcome, output, result, and influence on the policy.
  • S/he will actively involve in proposal development and resource mobilization team for ensuring funding for the origination’s financial sustainability. 

Delivery

  • Design and develop program, projects, technical/conceptual guideline, and notes align with global/country programmatic framework and global impact framework for quality proposal development.
  • Educo members are knowledgeable on program areas of Education sector specified in GIF, GPF and CPF.
  • An effective system is established for achieving the Education project targets on time supported by project planning and progress reports.
  • Monitoring findings of Education projects and knowledge management are utilized for impact driven learning and sharing through proper documentation. 
  • Quality Education projects are designed for timely and effective proposal submission aligning Educo priorities and donor requirements.
  • The program-operation team is guided to ensure timely Education project implementation and services of Educo/PNGOs that delivered with quality and efficient manner.
  • Quality project operations and compliance issues are ensured through technical guidance and smooth implementation of education program.
  • Generate ideas, innovation and knowledge generation contributing program as new initiative in accordance with the defined Program Quality Criteria.
  • Maintain and update channels for data management (IRIS) with all documents related to Education sector.
  • Support to the Director for Program, Country Management team and HO-Education focal for smooth implementation of program, practice policy, and procedure.
  • Represent Educo at Government Offices, PNGOs and others Stakeholder and keep liaison with CSOs and relevant bodies and networks as education program focal.

  • Plan and design program and projects with quality and maintain standards of Educo’s strategic and program policies.
  • Assure the quality, strategic and compliance issues in all the program, projects and teams.
  • Provide technical support to develop and design project interventions to the team and PNGOs with innovation and generate new knowledge. 
  • Ensure timely support in designing training & courses and orientation ensuring support to the project teams. 
  • Produce technical guidance and quality project activities monitoring tools maintaining quality and compliance issues.

Education Program Quality and Compliance Management

  • Provide technical areas’ guidance of program management to the project operation team as per the Educo Program Quality criteria and strategy.
  • Ensure smooth technical supports to the assigned project-lead/ operational team for quality field implementations.
  • Make frequent field visits for project monitoring, supervision and provide feedback for quality improvement.
  • Support all the field projects & PNGO’s activities in terms of compliance and quality aspects.
  • Update the program & project progress regularly to the Director of Programs, Management of Educo and HO. 
  • Build Capacity of the project-operation team and partners on Education project of Educo.

Resource Mobilization and Advocacy Campaign

  • Support the Resource Mobilization team by providing update information, technical guidance and response new call to mobilize external fund for new projects.
  • Design Education projects including EiE and develop quality technical proposals to submit on time and support in budget preparation accordingly.
  • Support in preparation of Annual Operating Plan (POA) and budget.  
  • Maintain close coordination with the resource mobilization and advocacy team for upgrading Education focus issues and proposals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ensure that organizational resources are used in the most cost-effective manners and as quality criterion.
  • Ensure regular support to Senior management to quality program design on education, ECCE, EiE and related issues.

4.

Communication and Networking with Relevant Stakeholders

  • Maintain communication/liaison with key stakeholders, relevant Govt. departments (especially Ministry of Primary and Mass Education- MoPME) and other relevant agencies at country levels. 
  • Represent the Educo towards the professional societies; establish networks and attend GO-NGOs meeting, workshops, and seminar.
  • Represent and work as focal Point of Educo at Govt. for getting approval, update Educo programs, process facilitation and so on.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management team, Director for Program, other Department/Program Heads/Sectors, PNGOs and CSOs.

Reporting and Facilitation

  • Ensure quality project quarterly reports in cooperation with the project implementation team. 
  • Upload documents to related channel (IRIS) for ensuring data management.
  • Provide require report to HO and technical guidance for updating the organization.
  • Deliver any required documentation and facilitation for representing program and Educo.

Education:
Minimum of Post-graduate of Social Science/ other relevant disciplines.

Experience and Requirements:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a managerial and technical position in development area focusing Education field with experience in Education program, INGOs, right-based approach, and community development.
  • Able to represent the organization in different local government bodies, donor liaison, likeminded organizations.
  • Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work cooperatively with team members.
  • Be patient and have team building attitude by being respectful to others.
  • Have skill to prioritize tasks under pressure and to understand the situation.
  • Capacity to deliver job timely and balance work-life.

Language:

  • Position requires both Bangla and English at Advanced level.

Knowledge and Skills:

Salary and Benefits:
Monthly Gross Salary is BDT 100,786 (Taka One Lac Seven Hundred and Eighty-Six only).
Plus: Provident Fund (10% Contributory), Gratuity, 02 Festival Bonuses, Insurance, Leave Encashment and other admissible benefits as per Educo People and Culture Policy.
