Educo Bangladesh is looking for an Administrative Assistant for Rohingya Response Program

We are Spain based global development NGO with more than 25 years of experience that works for the interest of Children and in defense of their rights, especially the right to a quality education. We have three strategic development goals, which center on the Right to Education, the Right to Protection, and Governance.

In Bangladesh, Educo has been working since 1999 with aims to empower Children to express their views, ideas and opinions, and to exercise leadership. At the same time, Educo works with duty bearers, especially Parents and Local Government Institutions, to create an enabling environment for Children where they can influence the decisions that affect them.

However, Educo Bangladesh is going to launch a new Program at Cox’s Bazar, named Rohingya Response Program", subject to the approval of the Government of Bangladesh. The Organization is now looking for an Administrative Assistant for this new Project.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Administrative Assistant, under the direction of the Admin & Finance Officer, will be responsible for providing admin & logistic operations services, regular interactions with the Administrative system of the government regarding FD7 & FD6 government regulation applications that support efficient service delivery of the day to day operations in Cox’s Bazar Humanitarian Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act in a clerical role supporting transactions through consistent application of established process and procedures;
  • Provide support in a specific area of service requiring understanding of subject specific rules and procedures which guide service delivery;
  • Liaison for processing and follow-up of administrative processes for FD7 & FD6 application, approval, implementation and reporting requirements;
  • In-charge for safekeeping and release of goods and products in support to program operations and ensuring that prescribed processes are observed;
  • Verify quality and quantity of goods and services delivered by suppliers are consistent with agreements/purchase orders/contracts;
  • Execute transactions related to settlement of payment for office utilities, securing office permits and licenses, keeping the record of fixed assets issued to the staff, ensuring adequacy of office supplies and materials,
  • Act on request, provide timely information and communicate co-employees and supervisors on the process and guidelines to support the execution of transactions in an efficient and transparent manner.

COMPETENCIES:
EDUCATION:
  • Graduation in Accounting/Management/Finance or any other related subject.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 2 years’ experience in the admin services work of an international NGO is preferred.
  • Three or more years of general admin/logistics experience is required.
  • Prior admin/clerk experience and strong organizational skills.
LANGUAGE:
  • Position requires language skills in Bangla and English. Knowledge about local dialect of CXB is mandatory.
  • Very good communication skills in Bangla and English both verbally and in written.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • The candidate should have good knowledge on Admin practices, filing and organizing, knowledge on FD6 & FD7 rules of Bangladesh.
  • Capable in preparing reports, supplies and inventory reports
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.

SALARY:
Consolidated monthly salary will be BDT. 40,000. Salary is negotiable based on Competency, Experience and Salary history.
