In Bangladesh, Educo has been working since 1999 with aims to empower Children to express their views, ideas and opinions, and to exercise leadership. At the same time, Educo works with duty bearers, especially Parents and Local Government Institutions, to create an enabling environment for Children where they can influence the decisions that affect them.

However, Educo Bangladesh is going to launch a new Program at Cox’s Bazar, named Rohingya Response Program", subject to the approval of the Government of Bangladesh. The Organization is now looking for an Admin & Finance Officer for this new Project.

The Admin and Finance Officer, under the direction of the Head of Mission, Cox’s Bazar, will be responsible for providing accurate and complete reports, consolidation of financial information, budget management, monthly accounting cycle, payroll, and supervises provision of general administrative services ensuring consistent quality across the range of transactions related to the humanitarian intervention in Cox’s Bazar.

  • Process and manage the month end accounting close process, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of the ledger, sub-journals, cash count, bank reconciliation and all supporting documentation;
  • Review financial documents, identify compliance issue, explain requirements for accounting transactions, and recommend solution to clients in support to efficient service delivery;
  • Ensure availability of complete and accurate financial documents, reports, schedules and other pertinent documents as needed during audit process or as needed by the organization;
  • Work closely with project team member to build cooperative relationships in ensuring consistent quality standard in financial/accounting processes, documents and reports are done correctly;
  • Provide specialized process delivery in a specific administrative service procurement, travel, office services, payroll, ensuring consistency and timeliness of delivery;
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and reconcile accounting information;
  •  Review major payments and invoices for consistency with organization procedures and established accounting formats and donor requirements.

  • University Degree in Accounting is required.
  • 3 year’s experience in the Finance work of an international NGO is preferred.
  • Three or more years of general accounting experience is required.
  • Prior management experience and strong organizational skills.
  • Skill in financial monitoring and management and internal control system.
  • Position requires language skills in both English and Bangla at an advanced level. Knowledge about local dialect of CXB is preferred.
  • Very good communication skills, both verbally and in written.
  • The candidate should have good knowledge on Accounting Practice, Income Tax, VAT and custom rules of Bangladesh.
  • Must be capable of handling and managing Accounts, Audit, VAT, Project Costs, Income Tax matters etc.
  • Capable in preparing budgets, budgetary control and financial reports
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.

Consolidated monthly salary will be BDT. 67,000. Salary is negotiable based on Competency, Experience and Salary history.
