We have three strategic development goals, which center on the Right to Education, the Right to Protection, and Governance.

In Bangladesh, Educo has been working since 1999 with aims to empower Children to express their views, ideas and opinions, and to exercise leadership. At the same time, Educo works with duty bearers, especially Parents and Local Government Institutions, to create an enabling environment for Children where they can influence the decisions that affect them.

However, Educo Bangladesh is going to launch a new Program at Cox’s Bazar, named “Rohingya Response Program", subject to the approval of the Government of Bangladesh. The Organization is now looking for a Child Protection Specialistfor this new Project.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Child Protection Specialist, under the supervision of the Head of Mission, Cox’s Bazar, will be responsible for  the development of strategies, conceptualization of design, improving program quality, developing M&E metrics and tools, prepare training modules and materials on Child Protection in Cox’s Bazar humanitarian program to establish mechanism on child protection in each refugee camp.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for the development of innovative, relevant and responsive strategies, programs and projects related to Child Protection; prepare training modules/materials and M&E tools on child protection towards improving child protection mechanism and decreasing exposure of children to risk in the Rohingya refugee camp;
  • Provide Child Protection & Child Protection in Emergency technical inputs to program/project implementation aimed at improving program quality, aligned with national, international and ChildFund-Educo global humanitarian and child safeguarding standards;
  • Build the team’s capacity on Child Protection to implement the program/ projects by providing appropriate technical support to project staff;
  • Document learnings and improvement on child protection/child protection in emergency to develop it as a resource material for internal use and for sharing to other stakeholders;
  • Provide professional advice on child protection and recommends project/programme initiatives and priorities;
  • Assess effectiveness of project/programme, systems and procedures and recommend improvements.

COMPETENCIES:
EDUCATION:
  • University Degree with specialization in Child Protection and / or Child Protection in Emergency, child rights or related field.
EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 3 or 5 years’ experience in Child Protection and / or Child Protection in Emergency (CPiE) and child rights
  • Experience facilitating training, and developing training modules and materials
  • Experience in developing proposals and M&E tools
  • Ability to develop creatively program vision and planning
LANGUAGE:
  • Position requires language skills in both English and Bangla at an advanced level.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written.
KNOWLEDGE:
  • Knowledge on project management
  • Knowledge and experience on Child Protection/Child Protection in Emergency, Education in Emergency, child rights
  • Knowledge of Sphere standards and other training in humanitarian response preferred
  • High computer literacy with a full knowledge of office applications

SALARY:
Consolidated monthly salary will be BDT. 110,000. Salary is negotiable based on Competency, Experience and Salary history.
