The position is based in Cox’s Bazar will require frequent field visit to Rohingya camps and host community.

Purpose

The Communications Officer, under the supervision of the Head of Humanitarian Response, Cox’s Bazar will be responsible for ensuring the better implementation and quality programming through development and implementation of communication strategy in Rohingya Response with emphasis for further growth of the organization, S/he will,

  • Support the communications team to help build and maintain a positive reputation for Educo, communicating effectively with its target audience
  • S/he will support to Head of Humanitarian Response, Cox's Bazar in managing internal and external communications
  • S/he will provide digital, editorial, creative and operational support across Educo’s work
  • S/he will support to develop and implementation of communication strategy aligned with the organization's goal and objectives
  • S/he ensures consistency in messaging across various communication channels, will contact the media inquiries, coordinate press events to generate positive media coverage to uphold the organization's brand identity and values.
Engagement
  • With the support of Head of Humanitarian Response and other colleagues of CO and HQ and understand the communications strategies and its effective implementation
  • Maintain communication and collaboration with partners of different projects, and relevant stakeholders including duty bearers for ensuring their inclusive presence in different events
  • Maintain regular communication and develop professional rapport building with local and national level print and electronic media.
  • Attend different program of working groups at Cox’s Bazar and capturing the new ideas and thoughts and to incorporate it in our programs for promoting org visibility.
  • Work closely with vendors and consultants regarding video documentations and provide effective support to ensure branding and compliance.
  • Regular communication and coordination with CO communications team, advocacy, and sponsorship team in terms of supporting to the Devtalk and Youthtalk
Delivery
  • Prepare press release and ensure its coverage in local and national level print and electronic media.
  • Support to colleagues by ensuring high quality photographs and community voices
  • Provide capacity building training to the colleagues including partners for capturing the real time photography and videos with ensuring compliance issue
  • Support to organize event with relevant pictures and videos including IEC materials designing.
  • Raise awareness of Educo's activities among the people of Bangladesh through creative posting of social media
  • Prepare day observance event write up including relevant photography and share on IRIS and social media

Education

Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism, Development Studies, Film and Photography, Sociology, and / or any other related field.

Experience and Requirements
  • 3 to 4 years of experience, skilled in impactful communication, storytelling, documentation, and design for branding and visibility. Specialized focus on promoting child rights, child protection, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), and Gender-based Violence (GbV) issues.
  • Expertise in using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, and other relevant software.
  • Experience in related to child rights, child protection, GbV and education in emergency response projects.
  • Media Communication and publication of features on project’s success areas
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Develop Information Education and Communication & Social Behavioral Change Communication materials on relevant project themes
  • Implementation of Communication, Advocacy and Campaign Plan with meet the deadlines
  • Experience in NGO/INGO especially in child rights-based organization is preferable
  • Ability to follow procedures, meet deadlines, and work cooperatively with team

Salary and Benefits

Monthly Consolidated Salary:
  BDT 65,940/- (Taka Sixty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred and Forty only).
