Company Overview:
Eastport Limited is a 100% export-oriented garment manufacturer in the Cumilla Export Processing Zone, Bangladesh, operating as a manufacturing unit of PORTWEST, Ireland, a global leader in safety wear. We are expanding our team and are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to help manage and optimize our IT infrastructure.
Role Overview:
- As an IT Support Technician, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of our IT systems by providing hands-on technical support.
- You will work closely with the IT team and provide technical support to non-technical staff and assist in resolving IT issues quickly and effectively.
- You will troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues, such as installing, removing, or repairing computer and printer hardware components.
- You will also address software-related problems, including the installation, configuration, and maintenance of software applications when necessary.
- You will manage L1 networking issues, such as network cabling, rack dressing, IP address issue resolving and resolving end-user connectivity problems.
- With a large fleet of smart TVs, tablets, and phones, you will be the go-to person for troubleshooting and resolving any device-related issues.
- You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of NVR systems, CCTV cameras, and associated monitors.
- You will manage the IT inventory by overseeing the issuance, receipt, and disposal of equipment, ensuring accurate tracking and maintenance.
Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Android devices settings and wifi connectivity issue solving will be considered as an advantage.
- Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and UPS systems.
- Expertise in installing and configuring software and operating systems, with the ability to resolve software-related issues for end users.
- Strong knowledge of network cabling, rack dressing, IP addressing, and troubleshooting network-related issues.
- Experience in managing IT inventory, including documentation for receiving and issuing hardware and software assets.
- Understanding of Windows Server features and roles, including hands-on experience with Active Directory infrastructure, including file and print sharing.
- Strong analytical skills to identify and efficiently resolve IT-related issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to document technical procedures and prepare clear reports.
- CCTV Systems: Proficiency in IP camera wiring, NVR, and camera configuration.
- Additional Skills (Optional but Preferred):
- Experience in installing and handling CAD software such as Gerber.
- Familiarity with PABX and PA systems.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant experience but from different educational background are also encouraged to apply.
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in IT Operations or IT Support. Candidates with prior experience in Garment or EPZ factories will be given preference.
- Ideal candidates should be between 26 and 32 years old.
