- The Board of Trustees (BOT) of Eastern University is looking for competent Vice-Chancellor.
Job Description / Responsibility:
a. The Vice-Chancellor will be the principal executive and academic officer of the University and will ensure that the provisions of the Act 2010, the Statute, the Regulations and the Rules are faithfully observed in order to promote teaching, research, publication, administration and the general efficiency and good order of the University. He will have all powers necessary for this purpose including administrative control over all faculty officials of the University. He will be also the member of Board of Trustees by virtue of his post.
b. Preside at the meetings of the Authorities of which he is the Chairperson.
c. The Vice-Chancellor may, in an emergency, which in his opinion requires immediate action, take such action as he may consider necessary and will, as soon thereafter as possible, report his action for approval to the officer, Authority or other body which, in the ordinary course, would have dealt with the matter. The Vice-Chancellor will also have the following powers—

To direct faculties, officers and other employees of the University to take up such assignments in connection with teaching, research, examinations, administration and such other activities in the University as he may consider necessary for the purpose of the University, this preferably should be in writing.

Coordination between Dean and Chairperson for overall development of the University.

Take initiative for opening new subjects and taken approval from UGC for opening new subjects.

Locking after development progress of permanent campus construction and ensuring its facilities in consultation with Permanent Campus Development Committee (PDC).

Arrange training programs for over all development of Faculty and Staff members of University through Faculty Development Program (FDP) and Staff Development Program (SDP).

Look after IQAC activities and give report to the BOT of Eastern University.

Closely monitoring Career Services and International Office activities and give suggestions how to manage jobs for students.

To appoint paper-setters and examiners for all examinations of the University after receiving panels of names from the relevant Authorities.

To make such arrangements for the scrutiny of papers, marks and results as he may consider necessary.

To sanction all expenditure provided for in the approved budget, and to re- appropriate funds within the same major head of expenditure.

Follow yearly university budget for arranging different programs and control the overall university operational cost.

Closely monitoring of faculty and staff attendance, regularity, and punctuality in office.

To delegate, subject to such conditions, if any, as may be prescribed, any of his powers under this Act, to an officer or officers of the University.

To exercise and perform such other powers and functions as may be prescribed by the government, BOT or any other competent authority.

The Vice Chancellor will perform his/her duties adhering to the Private University Act 2010, the Statute, the rules, regulations, and policy guidelines of the University. Qualifications:
- The eligible candidate must be a Professor, hold both graduate and postgraduate degrees with all first-class (or equivalent) and a PhD from an internationally recognized university, with excellent academic attainments.
Experience:
- The candidate must have at least 20 years of academic, research, and administrative experience, including a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at recognized universities. Experience as a Vice Chancellor, Pro Vice Chancellor, or equivalent position of public and private universities will be considered an advantage. Experience in designing academic and administrative strategic and operational plans and maintaining an active portfolio of professional affiliations will be considered additional qualifications.
