The USAID and UKaid funded Strengthening Political Landscape (SPL) program in Bangladesh, implemented by Democracy International (DI), is designed to improve the capacity of political parties to operate effectively and democratically, improve the environment for meaningful collaboration between political parties and politically active citizen organizations, and improve democratic attitudes and reduce conflict in the political parties to help strengthen the political landscape in Bangladesh.

DI is recruiting a Program Officer. S/he will be responsible for assisting with program design, development, and monitoring implementation; facilitate workshops, meetings, trainings, advocacy related seminars and other relevant diverse activities at the national level; ensure that program activities are completed as per organizational plans and donor requirements; prepare quantitative and qualitative reports under the overall guidance of the Program Deputy Director.

The Program Officer's key responsibilities include:

  • Support the planning and implementation of trainings with political parties and advocacy events.
  • Assist with the implementation of DI SPL's flagship programs with Junior and Senior political party members.
  • Maintain regular communication with DI's Regional Teams on program activities and logistics.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for program meetings, workshops, trainings, and events.
  • Prepare program reports and progress updates,
  • Collect data on program activities.
  • Conduct field and monitoring visits to DI's regional offices.
  • Maintain relationships with project stakeholders and beneficiaries.
  • Provide support for budget planning and monitoring program expenses.

Required skills:

  • Professional competency in English, written and oral and ability to provide translation and interpretation (English to Bangla and Bangla to English).
  • Ability to work remotely using digital tools.
  • Work as a part of team and work cooperatively with other team members.
  • Possess a strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.

The following desired qualifications are an added advantage to candidate:

  • Proven political analysis report drafting skills.
  • Experience working with political parties.
  • USAID project experience.
