Democracy International, Inc. (DI), a USA based international organization, seeks experienced Regional Program Assistant candidates for the multi-year USAID and UKaid Strengthening Political Landscape program (SPL). The primary responsibility of the position will be to support the program’s regional office operations and programs.

Job Location: Cumilla

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support regional manager in day to day activities and provide administrative support for programs.
  • Support and arrange trainings, awareness sessions, meetings, advocacy related seminars and workshops, and prepare reports under the overall guidance of the Senior Regional Coordinator.
  • Analyze and summarize material for the preparation of reports, budget and maintain department records,
  • Prepare, submit and reconcile purchase orders and other financial transactions,
  • Assist in the development of program evaluation tools, techniques, and methods,
  • Support regional manager in program design, development and implementation; coordinate diverse activities and priorities and ensure all annual targets are achieved maintaining high quality results.
  • Maintain close communication and coordination with program teams, NGOs, political parties and local authorities.

Educational Requirements:

Minimum master’s degree, preferably in political sciences/social sciences/ international relations/ development studies/peace building or any other relevant subject.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated professional skills and experience in project coordination and implementation;
  • Clear understanding of youth and women’s empowerment policies and programs in the political context of Bangladesh;
  • Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills both in English and Bangla;
  • Effective networking and interaction with public and non-profit organizations, including political parties, youth and woman organizations, volunteer groups, social forums etc.;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Prior experience with USAID projects, procedures, policies and reporting skills;
  • Excellent ICT and computer skills, especially MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and research on the Web;
  • Possess high level of integrity and maintain work ethics.
