Democracy International in Bangladesh, implemented by Democracy International (DI), is designed to improve the capacity of political parties to operate effectively and democratically, improve the environment for meaningful collaboration between political parties and politically active citizen organizations, and improve democratic attitudes and reduce conflict in the political parties to help strengthen the political landscape in Bangladesh.

Job Summary

Democracy International (DI) is seeking to hire a Training Manager for the Bangladesh Strengthening Political Accountability for Citizen Empowerment (B-SPACE) Project. DI is implementing projects to promote broader participation in Bangladeshi political parties by increasing youth and women’s representation, promoting intra-party democracy, facilitating inter-party relationships, bringing parties together around local priority issues, and improving the environment for more responsive politics. DI is recruiting full-time Training Manager in Dhaka. This role is only open to citizens of Bangladesh. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The ideal candidate must be an experienced, highly motivated professional with a demonstrated track record of managing and executing training and capacity-building activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new training modules in collaboration with the relevant technical team.
  • Regularly revisit and update training materials to ensure they remain current and relevant to the organization's needs and standards.
  • Develop content for both in-person and online training programs, ensuring it is engaging and suitable for the target audience
  • Provide support in designing and developing comprehensive training programs for technical teams, tailored to the needs of political parties and democratic institutions.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for political party members, youth, women leaders, non-political youth and other stakeholders using the most effective, interactive adult learning methods.
  • Update manual in the e-learning platform politicsmatters.com.bd in collaboration with relevant technical teams.
  • Support technical teams in conducting training and workshops.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and areas for improvement within political parties through stakeholder surveys and other methods.
  • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Periodically evaluate ongoing programs to ensure modules meet program needs.
  • Create content independently in both Bangla and English.
  • Collaborate with political parties, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of training initiatives.
  • Prepare reports on training activities, outcomes, and evaluations, track progress and support relevant teams and stakeholders, and guide to improve future training initiatives.
  • Ensure that all training documentation complies with organizational policies and industry regulations.
  • Ensure all training documents are well-organized and easily accessible to trainers and participants, often through shared folders or digital platforms.
  • Conduct field visits to working areas outside of Dhaka as necessary to gather firsthand insights and assess the implementation of training programs.
  • Provide mentoring support to stakeholder personnel, assisting them in implementing local-level training in Dhaka and regional areas.
  • Take care of the preparation of training-related procurement documents and ensure seamless coordination with the admin and operations teams for smooth training implementation.
  • Ensure safeguarding practices are upheld.

  • Actively participate in the planning and execution of others event communication and organization as a valuable team member when required.

Deliverables

  • Training Materials: Development of manuals, guides, presentations, and other educational resources that support the training objectives.
  • Training, Workshops and Seminars: Planning and conducting interactive trainings, workshops and seminars to facilitate learning and skill development.
  • E-Learning Content: Creation of online training modules and courses that can be accessed remotely by stakeholders.
  • Assessment Tools: Development of quizzes, tests, and other assessment tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the training and the progress of participants.
  • Feedback Reports: Collection and analysis of feedback from training participants to assess satisfaction and areas for improvement.
  • Training Schedules: Detailed schedules and timelines for training sessions to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
  • Evaluation Reports: Comprehensive reports evaluating the impact of training programs on employee performance and organizational goals.
  • Continuous Improvement Plans: Recommendations for future training initiatives and improvements based on evaluation findings and feedback.
  • Documentation: Maintenance of accurate records of training activities, participant progress, and outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to convey information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong ability to connect with and engage participants, fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in delivering engaging and informative presentations to diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of the topics being taught to provide accurate and relevant information.
  • Ability to plan, organize, conduct and manage training sessions efficiently.
  • Expertise in guiding discussions, encouraging participation, and managing group dynamics.
  • Competence in designing assessments and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Familiarity with e-learning platforms, presentation software, and other digital tools used in training
  • Ability to design and develop training materials.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Bengali is required.
  • Must be politically aware, with an up-to-date understanding of the political context and practices of Bangladesh.
  • Able to explain academic and political terminology in plain language.

Educational Qualification

 Master’s degree in any relevant subject.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in training and capacity building, preferably in the context of governance sector
