Purpose of the job (Brief)

DCA is looking for an energetic and experienced Programme and Reporting Officer. DCA (DanChurchAid) is a Danish humanitarian, non-government and non-profit organization working in Bangladesh since 1971. DCA is a non-missionary organization. The Programme and Reporting Officer is responsible for an assigned number of partner organizations working in partnership with DCA in Bangladesh in both Humanitarian Response and Development Programmes. The Programme and Reporting Officer oversees monitoring of project progress, and generates reports and assessments. Strong English writing skills is a must.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Responsibility for suggesting new partners for selection, as well as conducting assessments, follow-up, monitoring, evaluating and reporting partner organizations’ interventions, results, and effective and efficient use of funds in accordance with DCA’s approach to partnership.
  • Ensuring the quality of plans and reports submitted by partner organizations to DCA. Support partners in improving quality where required.
  • Facilitating organizational and capacity development of partner organizations based on their needs and priorities.
  • Ensure that the operations of the partner organizations are in line with DCAs policies, regulations and strategic focus in Bangladesh.
  • Ensure partners’ program work is in accordance with internal and external requirements and deadlines.
  • Writing high quality narrative reports to reflect the progress and status of both partner projects and DCA’s self-implementation work.
  • Writing reports in a transparent, timely and professional manner, in liaison with Head of Programme, Programme Managers and finance team for internal and external communication.
  • Taking on a communications role and generating visual tools to track success.
  • Closely working with DRR team and update actions in the Red Rose system.
  • Represent organization in different platform and perform business development activities.
  • Contribute to developing methods of reporting on DCA project achievements in partnerships with partner organizations as well as DCA self-implementation

Person specifications

  • Bachelor degree in Social science, Development studies, Anthropology, Social Work or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Good English language (both writing and speaking)
  • Experience working with refugees, women and girls, and implementing programs in vulnerable communities
  • Strong organizational and reporting skills
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and without judgment.
  • Emotional maturity and stability to deal with conflict and confrontation in non- violent way and maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, ethnicity, and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills to work with community members and leaders on sensitive topics
  • Ability to work independently and check in remotely with supervisor to provide input and reporting on activities
  • Able to analyse data and familiar with tools such as GIS, KOBO, ODK, AKVO Red Rose etc.
  • Experience in report writing
