1) Introduction:
Cordaid (www.cordaid.org) is a Netherlands based INGO working in Bangladesh since 1972, and throughout the year, Cordaid is working as a humanitarian and development organization that supports people in fragile and conflict-affected countries. We have been active to support both host community and Rohingya in Cox’s Bazar since August 2017.
Under supervision of the Project Officer/Assistant Officer, the Community Mobilizer will be responsible for mobilizing the community, selection of the beneficiaries, and delivering the project in the field.
2) Result areas, descriptions, and expertise
Overall Responsibilities:
The role of the Community Mobilizer (CM) is to mobilize the community, capacity building of the beneficiary, inputs distribution/ asset transfer, organize farmers market, liaison and coordination with local authorities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community communication, mobilization and beneficiary selection and validation
- Organize and facilitate beneficiary training, group meetings, workshops
- Facilitate skill development trainings as co-facilitator
- Plan and record the practicalities of inputs/ asset transfers
- Identify and locate resources and services from internal and external (UP, Govt, NGOs) sources for the participants
- Problem identification in the field and help the group to solve the problems
- Organize and assist events observing different key International Days
- Attend meetings/ events organized externally and represent the project and Cordaid properly
- Prepare and submit plan, report weekly/ monthly as required
- The duties and responsibilities may change as per project requirements
- Timely reporting as per the donor and organizational requiremnts
- Maintain risk register and follow the feedback of the donor as well as Cordaid Dhaka office
- Ensure integrity policy of the both donro and Cordaid
- Follow and ensure the saftey security policy
3) Working Conditions:
- Working days from Sunday to Thursday, 40 hours per week. This position may be required to work some extra hours to meet the deadline/ attending meetings/ special events etc.
- Any other tasks assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
- Yearly renewable contract based on fund availability and performance.
- Have to follow Cordaid HR, Admin and Finance related policy.

5) Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences
- Diploma/Graduation in any discipline with a minimum of 3 years' work experience in Rohingya Camps
- Work experience in emergency response project/ Rohingya camps.
- Must be able to speak the local Chittagong language
- Female candidates are strongly preferred
- Experience in community mobilization, need assessment, beneficiary selection, input distribution and training delivery.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, good team player
- Willing to work in any camps in Ukhiya Upazila
- Punctual and good at time management and strong relationship building skills
- Understanding of protection issues facing our beneficiaries
- Good verbal and written communication skills in Bengali
