Senior Executive, Procurement (Gazipur)

Role Purpose:

The purpose of this job is to provide regular procurement services and sourcing activities, vendor management, contract management support, maintaining compliance, due diligence and generate cost savings at the plant level.

The role will be primarily accountable for the followings:

  • Overall responsible as first point of Procurement contact for the plants/site’s all indirect and some direct martials sourcing and managing the spend, with direct guidance from Sourcing manager and Procurement BP.
  • Managing the plant specific spends, coordinate with Sourcing  manager for larger projects, category and spend management.
  • Coordinating with Purchasing Manager for timely delivery of service, goods and P2P KPI improvement.
  • Timely and cost effective procurement from overseas and local sources in accordance with company policies and requirement.
  • Support implementing purchasing strategies at plant to achieve sourcing objectives in terms of cost, quality, service, innovation and cost. Thus ensuring the Procurement Productivity.
  • Improving supplying process through reduction of supply risk, increasing supply flexibility, leveraging spends category knowledge and internal users through cross regional/cross-functional teams.
  • Supplier development, profiling, screening & selecting supplier as per specification, less lead-time, reliability and through creating competitive situation. 
  • Support Sourcing Manager in Contract Management in different category of Service and Indirect Materials purchase.
  • Prepare reporting which highlighted the savings and project initiatives
  • Assist Sourcing Manager in different productivity, engineering, sustainability projects and drive projects individually at the plant level.
  • At plant level drive any P2P, eTools and automation process.
  • Take the ownership of Procurement Function at the site/plant.

Key Relationships:

Internal: All other department manager, Manufacturing Head, Sourcing & Purchasing Manager, Procurement BP.
External: Major Suppliers.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Engineer/ BBA/ MBA/ Masters in Economics (in case of experienced person) from reputed University.
    • 3-4  years of relevant experience in procurement/sourcing  in manufacturing organization, especially working experience in manufacturing plants.
    • Should be analytical, time bound, able to work under pressure with limited supervision.
    • Agree to travel regularly.
  • Desirable:
    • Working experience in SAP environment will be preferable.
    • Experience in engineering.
    • Preferably from a MNC.
