Job Description: Business Development Lead -Individual Life Insurance

Department: Individual Life Insurance Business

Job Location: Head office (Frequent travel to Sales/Branch offices)

Employment Type: Full-time


We are looking for a dynamic and strategic professional to lead our Individual Life Insurance Business. The incumbent will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, expanding market reach, and strengthening agency and distribution networks across the country.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the individual life insurance business to achieve business targets and growth objectives.
  • Set annual sales targets, monitor performance, and take corrective actions to ensure achievement of goals.
  • Build, train, and motivate high-performing sales teams and ensure achievement of productivity and performance standards.
  • Monitor zonal heads business, sales productivity, persistency, and customer retention metrics, expansion and strengthening of the agency distribution network.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and development of agency managers and financial advisors.
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Operation and Finance teams to ensure market-aligned products and sales campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare and present business performance reports, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to management.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive retail sales strategy to achieve business growth targets and profitability.
  • Provide strategic direction, coaching, and leadership to regional and branch sales teams.
  • Ensure capacity building of the sales organization through structured training and career development.

Required Qualifications:

  • BBA/MBA in Marketing, or a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 10–15 years of experience in Business Development, preferably in Insurance or financial industry, FMCG industry, Telco.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance products, distribution channels
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic mindset with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
