About CHRF
Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a non-profit NGO based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.
We invite applications for the position “Research Investigator” (depending on experience) to work with our core research and diagnostic team.
Job Location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Salary range: BDT 90,000 – 110,000 per month (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate)
Benefits: Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi)
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating novel research methodologies
- Maintaining effective communication with donors and management for project related issues and routinely updating about overall progress
- Recording research findings for scientific publication and preparing project reports
- Planning and organizing training sessions for general audience or study-specific personnel
- Monitoring progress of different project activities at hospital and community-based sites in collaboration with project specific coordinators
- Preparing different research administering tools including CRF (Case Report Form), SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), monitoring tools etc
- Identifying gaps in implementation process, data collection process and resolving things in consultation with investigators & management
- Assisting management team in proposal development, data analysis, budget preparation and other support with project initiation & implementation
- Keeping up with new research and relevant literature
- Coordinating and communicating with the clinical, laboratory and data personnel to assure all epidemiological, clinical and laboratory data are correct and accurately linked
- Maintaining liaison with sites where studies are running, and other stakeholders including government, NGO and relevant entities
Required Qualifications, Experience:
- PhD (preferred), MPH, MBBS, M.Sc. in Microbiology or Biochemistry or Genetic Engineering along with minimum 5 years of experience of working as a lead research personnel
- Candidate with Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) experience will be given preference
- Should have experience in writing manuscripts
- Highly organized and be particularly attentive to details
- Enthusiastic to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and be willing to take initiative
- Must possess problem solving ability, critical thinking and management skill and be able to work independently
- Capacity to supervise junior colleagues
- Project coordination experience and capacity
