About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is an NGO based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.  

We invite application for the position “Senior Research Investigator” as part of our core research team.

Job location: Dhaka, Bangladesh

Employment term: Fixed-term/Regular

Vacancy: 1

Salary range: BDT 120,000 – 130,000 (depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate the salary may be negotiated further)

Benefits: Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid, Puja, Christmas, Baishakhi)
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Closely monitor the progress of the different project activities running at hospital and community-based sites in collaboration with project specific coordinators
  • Arrange and conduct training for project staff
  • Prepare different research administering tools including CRF (Case Report Form), SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), monitoring tools etc
  • Identify gaps for in implementation process, data collection process and resolve things in consultation with investigators
  • Regularly share the progress with project PI.
  • Assist investigators in proposal development, data analysis, budget preparation
  • Maintain communication with donors for study related issues and update them with progress
  • Coordinate and communicate with the clinical, laboratory and data personnel to assure the epidemiologic, clinical and laboratory data are correct and accurately linked
  • Maintain liaison with sites where studies are running, and other stakeholders including government, NGO and private sectors

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Masters in Public Health from a recognized organization is essential
  • At least 5 years of experience on public health research or project management/coordination experience of working in community and hospital settings will be preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English
  • MBBS/PhD is highly desired
  • Computer literacy and data analysis skill are desired
  • Must possess problem solving and management skill
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure with commitment to meet deadlines
  • Must be enthusiastic to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and be willing to take initiatives
  • Maintain liaison with different stakeholders including government, NGO and private sector
  • Exparience of managing population based field sites
