Call for Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Experts

Chemonics International Inc. – a global consulting and international development firm – seeks qualified and highly motivated monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) experts for the anticipated USAID Esho Shikhi (“Come and Learn”) Activity in Bangladesh. This five-year activity aims to improve the learning outcomes of marginalized and difficult-to-reach Bangladeshi children and youth in the communities of Cox's Bazar.  Target beneficiaries may include children and/or youth in Government Primary Schools, secondary schools, non-governmental organization (NGO) schools, madrasahs, or out-of-school youth throughout the district. Result areas for the activity include 1) increasing learning opportunities; 2) improving quality of education in selected subjects; 3) increasing district and local level government capacity to plan, manage, and oversee quality education; and 4) increasing school community capacity to prepare for and respond to the impacts of natural disasters. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people and in improving learning outcomes in Bangladesh. 

We are looking for education technical experts in the following areas:

  • Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

Responsibilities include:

  • Advise on the design of assessment activities relevant to early-grade reading, experience with Early Grade Reading Assessments (EGRA) preferred
  • Design operations assessment studies that require the design, adaptation, and application of mathematical and statistical approaches to evaluation of challenges
  • Support the project team to review project data and develop strategies to address any problems identified

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, or related field; advanced degree strongly preferred;
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience in the education sector in Bangladesh;
  • Professional experience implementing international donor-funded required;
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity;
  • Professional verbal and written proficiency in English is required.
