
Chemonics International seeks qualified local candidates for multiple long-term positions for the anticipated USAID Protibesh Activity. The five-year program will build upon past donor and Bangladeshi government efforts to advance co-management strategies for improved natural resources management and biodiversity conservation. Specifically, Protibesh will better enable local communities to more effectively manage natural resources, safeguard critical ecosystems and biodiversity, and integrate ecosystems-based management into an environmental governance framework. These positions will be based in Dhaka, with regional travel as needed.
Chemonics is recruiting for a variety of technical positions and seeks candidates with specialized skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Forest Protection and Management
- Wetlands Management
- Protected Area Management
- Freshwater Capture Fisheries
- Biodiversity Conservation
- Sustainable Livelihoods Development
- Conservation Finance
- Environmental Governance and Policy Reform
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning
Specific positions will be discussed with qualified applicants during the recruitment process.
Illustrative Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, forestry, fisheries, natural resource management, aquatic or terrestrial biology, environmental policy/governance, or related field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum ten years’ experience in areas such as natural resource management and governance, community-based natural resource management, forest management, aquatic ecosystems management, biodiversity conservation, co-management, conservation finance, and community livelihoods
- Significant experience working with stakeholders at both local and national levels
- Knowledge or experience with USAID- or other donor-funded projects preferred
- Fluency in English is required
