URGENT EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is implementing 95 on-going projects covering 200 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox’s Bazar office is looking for a suitable candidate for an immediate appointment of a Manager (Gender) as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.

In May 2022, CB conducted a gender audit to understand to what extent gender has been integrated in different level of their humanitarian response in Cox’s Bazar. Based on the recommendations of the audit, a gender-sensitive Program Strategy and Action Plan were developed to address the audit’s findings. CB is looking for a candidate with demonstrated skills and leadership to lead the implementation of the Action Plan.

Salary : 1,00,000 BDT per month (Consolidated).

Educational Qualification

Masters in Women and Gender Studies, Development Studies, Social Science preferably with honors degree from any recognized University. Educational qualification will be relaxed for the experienced candidates in similar field.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Requirements

  • 6 years of proven experience including minimum 3 years at mid-level in the similar job in any NGO/INGOs.
  • Proven experience working in emergency setting and have extensive knowledge of the Rohingya and local culture and context.
  • Substantial experience in designing, monitoring and evaluation of gender responsive projects.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with refugees, local communities, partner staff and policy makers.
  • Ability to engage with local and international agencies.
  • An influential communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills in English and Bangla (Required).
  • Experiences in working with partnership approach.
  • Good reporting and presentation skills, computer skill both English and Bangla on MSOffice.
  • Knowledge on local language will be given preference.
  • Should be able to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities.
  • Committed to work following organizational objectives, values, principles and policies.
  • Have good knowledge on safeguarding related policies, GBV, Child protection policy and other relevant policy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Gender Action Plan.
  • Provide technical leadership to the program to ensure integration of gender equality and social inclusion in program interventions.
  • Develop tools, frameworks and resources to enable better gender integration in the projects activities.
  • Design and deliver realistic and pragmatic gender strategies and programming interventions that will lead to positive gender equality outcomes.
  • Provide advice on appropriate gender sensitive indicators in the performance measurement framework and support colleagues in the monitoring and reporting of project result/output and objectives against agreed indicators.
  • Support in the MEAL and interpretation for gender specific indicators.
  • Compile, analyze and interpret gender issues and statistical data through gender and reviews assessments.
  • Review and provide technical feedback on results and project reports to donors in order to ensure quality and full compliance with gender equality and social inclusion into activities.
  • Identify successful practices in the project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, etc.
  • Prepare communications materials that highlight the projects gender equality programming, Success and lessons learnt.
  • Monitor, Analyze and be up to date with gender related topics at national and international level.
  • Represent the project management in relevant meetings.
