Caritas Bangladesh is seeking a qualified professional for the position of Knowledge Management Officer for its USAID’s BRIDGE (Building Resilience and Inclusion in Disaster Governance and Emergencies) project, based in the Caritas Central Office, Dhaka. Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices in Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet. CB is implementing 91 projects covering 201 focusing upazila on eight goals i.e i) Social Welfare and Service of Love for Vulnerable Communities; 2) Ecological Conservation, Climate Justice and Sustainable Food System; 3) Humanitarian Response and Disaster Management; 4) Education, Skill Development and Employment Creation; 5) Health Care, Nutrition and Education; 6) Development of Indigenous Peoples; 7) Integral Human Development; and 8) Institutional Development and Sustainability.
Job Summary:
The Knowledge Management Officer will work closely with the Program Manager of USAID’s BRIDGE project. Responsibilities include preparing regular project reports, developing and promoting knowledge management materials and system, and establishing a knowledge management HUB. S/he will also contribute significantly to the development of a communication strategy for the project.
Additionally, the role involves creating regular knowledge products such as newsletters, case studies, success stories, and external communication materials. The incumbent will organize regular knowledge and learning sharing meeting and workshops at local, regional, and national levels. S/he will also ensure USAID branding and marking across all learning products and external communication is a key responsibilities.
Roles and Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the drafting of regular reports on the program’s activities (including monthly activities updates and quarterly and annual reports).
- Work closely with the Program Manager-USAID’s BRIDGE to respond to ad hoc requests for reports from USAID’s BHA.
- Develop, approve, and update promotional materials to ensure program materials are branded correctly and consistently.
- Develop a knowledge management system for the USAID’s BRIDGE project.
- Research and develop knowledge management materials including success stories, and case studies which will record learning from the project.
- Script and produce audiovisual materials including presentations, webinars, online training and short videos.
- Coordinate the maintenance and development of content for the project’s online trainings, website and social media sites.
- Maintain communications with MEAL & Knowledge Management Specialist and MEAL Officers as needed to support program activities (ex. graphic designers) implementing within the Barishal region.
- Conduct periodic and systematic data collection and analysis of project results indicators, in conjunction with relevant project staff.
- Contribute to activity monitoring and evaluation plans.
- Contribute to generate reports on progress of results indicators, Mile stones, and Influence hypothesis and assist the Program Manager – USAID’s BRIDGE in preparation of other reports as needed.
- Ensure USAID’s branding and marking across all learning products and external communication.
- Other duties assigned by the supervisor that are consistent with the overall focus of the assignment.
Required Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree preferably in Communication, Journalism, Disaster Management, Agriculture, Economics, Sociology, Social Welfare, Development Studies/Anthropology from any recognized university at home and abroad.
- Minimum five (5) years of work experience working in communications and knowledge management for an NGO.
- Prior experience on research programs and documentation of BHA/USAID funded development and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) projects.
- Ability to organize, present, and disseminate information, and to draft clear and concise documents with minimal supervision.
- Have demonstrated experience in providing guidance on knowledge management and communications strategy to programs.
- Experience in organizational KML; capturing, documenting, and facilitating best practices and learning.
- Experience designing and delivering professional learning initiatives and associated job tools and resources through formal and non-formal methods highly desirable.
- Experience in preparation and interpretation of data reports, donor analytics, or trend analysis required.
- Experience in designing and using social media, website and videos to communicate with stakeholder including Adult learning.
- Monitoring and Evaluation experience.
- Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), web conferencing applications, and information management systems.

Required Languages: Strong written and oral command in English/Bangla is required.
Travel: Based in Caritas Central Office, Dhaka with frequent travel throughout the project locations at Barguna and Patuakhali Districts. Up to 50% travel to field offices and field.
Key Working Relationships:
Internal: Director-Program, Head of Disaster Management, Manager- Communications, Technical Advisors (TAs), In-charge of MEAL and other Sector/Section heads.
External: NGO/Partner Organization Communications Officers, Media, as well as GoB, Donor and other Public Relations Officers, etc.
