Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and nonprofit development organization that has been operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Sylhet Region). CB is currently 89 projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities: i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Emergency Response Program (ERP), Cox’s Bazar is looking for a suitable candidate for an immediate appointment of an Project Coordinator as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh project.

Job Location  : Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
Salary Range : 65,000  - 70,000 BDT per month.
Job Nature : Temporary
Preference  : Women will be given special priority

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Psychology/Gender Studies or any Social Science department from any recognized university.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in a similar job in any NGO/INGO.
  • Proven experience working in the protection sector, especially in gender-based violence prevention and response unit in the emergency setting.
  • Knowledge of the Rohingya and local culture, language, and context.
  • Received training on Protection guidelines, GBV Case management, Psycho-social support, Psychological First Aid, and GBVIMS.
  • Excellent data and Report writing skills.
  • Proven track record of donor management and maintaining donor compliance.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with refugees and local communities.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Should be able to handle multiple tasks, manage priorities, and be committed to following organizational objectives, values, principles, and policies.
  • Have good knowledge of safeguarding-related policies, Child protection policies, and other relevant policies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise team prevention and the response of the Gender-based violence team in the Rohingya Community.
  • Regularly follow up on the activity implementation by the Technical Officers and conduct activity as per the MEAL plan.
  • Organize and facilitate training for the staff and community volunteers with technical support from Sub-sector and/or Caritas and another stakeholder who are specialists in Protection, PSS, GBV, etc.
  • Ensure that community volunteers are provided with adequate support and ensure coherence of the program in the field, in line with the GBV.

  • Ensure project activities, specifically psycho-social support and case management support are implemented in a high-quality manner.
  • Ensure good coordination between Community Volunteers and other Caritas teams as well as other stakeholders in the camp (CiC, protection services, information points, etc.).
  • Prepare and submit 5W and situation reports to the Protection sector, GBV subsector, and MHPSS working group regularly and as required.
  • Prepare and submit donor reports regularly and relevant reports as per the requirement of management, donor, and other stakeholders
  • Always look after the team member well-being, and stress management and build good cohesion between the team staff and other staff of Caritas Bangladesh.
  • Build a good relationship with the Protection agencies in the field and remain updated on services available, resources to be shared, and protection issues that arise.
  • Uphold the strictest confidentiality and protection of data pertaining to beneficiaries and Caritas Bangladesh staff and volunteers and reinforce this confidentiality in the field.
