Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet). CB is implementing 94 on-going projects covering 200 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is looking for suitable candidate for an immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for the post of Program Officer (TVET) under Caritas Technical School Projects (CTSP) of Caritas Central Office.

Details of Position:

Position : Program Officer (TVET)

Job Location : Caritas Central Office, Dhaka
Age : Maximum 45 years (as on 28/02/2023)
Reporting to : In Charge of Caritas Technical School Projects (CTSP)
Salary Range : Tk. 60,000/- ― 65,000/- per month (consolidated).
Bonus : As per organizational policy
Job Nature : Temporary
Job Duration : Project period

Required Educational Qualification

  • The candidate must have
    • B.Sc in Engineering (any discipline) or
    • Four/three year Diploma course in Engineering (any discipline) or
    • Graduate with 2 years course (any discipline).

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in the similar job in any reputed NGO/INGOs.

  • Strong interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to demonstration to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.

  • Should have high level of competence with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, composing English and Bangla etc., is essential.

Role of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance/guidance/instructions to the of Regional and Mobile Technical schools project staff.
  • Responsible for supervision and monitoring of performance of Regional Technical School (RTS) project staff (Project Office and School level) following their job description.
  • Responsible for overall implementation and monitoring of the project activities and budget of RTS.
  • Regular visit to Regional and Mobile Technical School (if and when) and submit the reports to the In-Charge, CTSP/Project Manager copy to Director, Programs.
  • Prepare and submission of monthly, six Monthly and Annual reports and other report as required.
  • Responsible to planning and project writing and evaluation with the assistance of concerned persons.
  • Responsible to submit six-monthly progress reports, ED’s report, NGOAB report as well as other periodical reports, case studies, photographs, video, etc.
  • Conduct test, supervision of schools and imparting entrepreneurship, social awareness and spiritual training.
  • Responsible to conduct midterm examination, final examination and arrange certificate award ceremony.
  • Responsible for regular follow up of the training (theory & practical), trainees selection, employment creation, staff development plans, etc.
  • Skills demand study in different industries.
  • Lead curriculum and learning materials review and development process as per industry demand by involving of different industry experts
  • Prepare physical plan including enrollment, graduates and job placement target of CTSP TVET Program and maintained database.
  • Prepare partnership project proposal along with details budget, program modality, action plan on TVET Program.
  • Negotiation with different stakeholders for obtaining training facilities from private NGO and GO organization.
  • Prepare regular correspondence for donors, government, regional, trust, and project offices of Caritas as per need and instructed by In Charge of Caritas Technical School Projects (CTSP).
  • Accompany donor, donor’s representative and Govt./NGO representative for project visit of Caritas, when necessary under the guidance of In Charge of Caritas Technical School Projects (CTSP).

Required Languages: Strong written and oral command in English/Bangla is required.

Travel: This position is based in Dhaka with frequent travel throughout Bangladesh. Up to 50% travel to Region/field offices and field.
