URGENT EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox’s Bazar office is looking for suitable candidate for an immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh Project.

Details of Position:

Position  : Senior HR Officer
No of Position  : 1 (One)
Age  : Maximum 40 years
Job Location : Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
Consolidated Salary : BDT 85000 per month
Bonus : As per policy
Job Nature  : Contractual

Educational Qualification:

Master’s degree preferably in Human Resource Management (HRM) or related field. Experienced candidates having Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management or L.L.B/L.L.M will also be considered. Academic qualification may also be relaxed for highly experienced candidates in HR Field.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in the similar job in any NGO/INGO.
  • Experience in working on HRM in emergency programs is strongly preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of Bangladesh Labor Law shall be treated as additional qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge on Basic Functions of HRM.
  • Ability to develop innovative idea and solution on HR issues.
  • Skills for producing different HR and administrative related letters.
  • Knowledge on operating HRIS (Human Resource Information System), ICT particularly on MS Excel, MS Word (both Bangla & English), Power Point etc., is essential.
  • Ability to engage with local and international agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and training skills.
  • Able to problem solve and identify resources in the environment.
  • Language: English and Bangla required. Speaking ability in Chattogram local dialect a plus.
  • Shows persistence when faced with difficult problems or challenges.
  •  Should be fluent in communication both in writing and speaking in English language
  • Should be self-driven and positive to work in a team.
  • Should have “can do’ attitude and able to handle multiple tasks managing priorities
  • Committed to work following organizational aims, values, principal and policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the recruitment process including preparation of Employment notice. 
  • Conduct assessment of staff as member of the Assessment Team as assigned by the Management.
  • Prepare job description of staff members of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office. 
  • Responsible for systematic management of Personal file and Leave Management of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office.
  • Ensure compliance of HR Policies (including safe recruitment process,) and other associate policies while dealing any HR Matters.
  • Plan and ensure new employee orientation/induction.
  • Assist Management in handling staff grievance of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office.
  • Assist Management to identify staff training needs on the basis of performance appraisal report and ensure need-based training for respective groups/individuals timely and appropriately.
  • Coordinate the process of Employee Performance Appraisal Form (EPAF).
  • Prepare letters related to the approval of staff appointment, promotion, transfer and punitive actions, etc.
  • Undertake field visit on various HR issues as assigned by the Management.
  • Assist Management to deal HR related legal compliance issues of ERP under of guidance of the Caritas Management.
  • Update staff position of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office.
  • Assist Management for Team Building among the organizational staff members for overall growth of the organizational effectiveness.
  • Assist Management to coordinate the training/workshop/seminar at the Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office.
  • Assist Management to identify staff training needs on the basis of performance appraisal report and ensure need-based training for respective groups/individuals timely and appropriately.
  • Provide necessary support including preparation of letters/ documents required for visa processing for staff members of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office for any abroad training/ workshop/ seminar/ higher study.
  • Facilitate the training/workshop session on HR issues as assigned by the Management.
  • Provide necessary support to organize Knowledge Development Session (KDS) on various topics/issues for the staffs members of Caritas Cox’s Bazar Office.
  • Assist Management to improve relationship between staff members of Caritas for better working environment. 
  • Maintain contact, liaison, network and coordination with the actors of the Public and Private sector for exchange ideas/ views, good practices and learnings.
  • Maintain liaison and communication with Government, national and international NGOs, donors and other development agencies in country and abroad as to obtain technical assistant/supports and relevant resources as assigned by the Management for the better development of HR Section of Caritas
  • Any others task assigned by the organization.
