Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is currently implementing 89 projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities: i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Emergency Response Program (ERP), Cox’s Bazar is looking for a suitable candidate for an immediate appointment of a Manager- Education as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh project.

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s in Education and Research, Development Studies, Social Science preferably with honors degree from any recognized University. Educational qualifications will be relaxed for more experienced candidates in similar field.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Requirements

  • 6 years of proven experience including minimum 3 years at mid-level in the similar job in Education sector in any NGO/INGOs.
  • Proven experience working in emergency setting and have extensive knowledge of the Rohingya and local culture and context.
  • Substantial experience in designing, monitoring and evaluation of gender responsive projects.
  • High level of interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity to effectively interact with refugees, local communities, partner staff and policy makers.
  • Ability to engage with local and international agencies and coordinate with Education Sector, ISCG, UN Bodies and government offices.
  • An influential communicator, with excellent written and verbal skills in English and Bangla (Required).
  • Experiences in working with partnership approach.
  • Good reporting and presentation skills, computer skill both English and Bangla on MS-Office.
  • Knowledge on local language will be given preference.
  • Should be able to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities.
  • Committed to work following organizational objectives, values, principles and policies.
  • Have good knowledge on safeguarding related policies, GBV, Child protection policy and other relevant policy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation of the Education Project of ERP and prepare & follow Education Action Plan.
  • Support in development of Education Projects in alignment with the Education Sector strategy as well as the Joint Response Plan (JRP)
  • Provide technical leadership to the program to ensure high equality education programming and inclusion in program interventions.
  • Develop tools, frameworks, and resources to enable better implementation of the projects activities as per project agreement.
  • Design and deliver realistic and pragmatic education strategies and programming interventions that will lead to positive outcomes in education sector.
  • Provide advice on appropriate indicators in the performance measurement framework and support colleagues in the monitoring and reporting of project result/output and objectives against agreed indicators.
  • Support in updating the sources of verification for MEAL and interpretation for inclusive indicators.
  • Ensure effective and efficient communication and coordination of the education sector in the Rohingya response in Cox’s Bazar.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the education response is coordinated and in alignment with other sectors, and that the education-specific needs of the Rohingya population are met.
  • Review and provide technical feedback on results and project reports to donors in order to ensure quality and full compliance with donor agreements.
  • Identify successful practices in the project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, etc.
  • Any other ad hoc duties related to education assigned by ERP Management.
