Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is currently implementing 89 projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities: i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Emergency Response Program (ERP), Cox’s Bazar is looking for a suitable candidate for an immediate appointment of a Case worker as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh project.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor degree preferable in Social Science/HSC with relevant experience

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Requirements

  • Minimum 1 years work experience in GBV case management /PSS/GBV/CP in the emergency context.
  • Proven track record in facilitating structured and unstructured PSS activities for vulnerable groups, including children, adolescents, women and girls, elderly.
  • Previous experience in conducting trainings for volunteers and community members is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, think and plan strategically, and communicate with key actors in a dynamic and unpredictable operating environment
  • Understanding of case management, psychosocial support and life skills programming to promote survivor healing and recovery.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for survivors
  • Positive and professional attitude, including ability to lead and work well in a team setting
  • Strong ability to maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, and work in a difficult environment.
  • Demonstrates compassion, empathy and respect towards beneficiaries, staff and volunteers
  • Strong understanding of the Rohingya emergency response and host community needs
  • Proven experience in providing services to vulnerable individuals and families (including survivors of GBV and other protection-related concerns)
  • Willingness to learn and receive constructive feedback to improve program quality
  • Ability and willingness to work in a participatory manner with a diverse range of communities and beneficiaries.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide GBV Case management services will include assessment of needs, development of an action plan for recovery implementation of the action plan and ensuring appropriate follow up/revision and case closure when appropriate.
  • Ensure that, Survivor Centered Approach Guiding principles maintained and enforced in, while working with survivors, including in safe space for survivors during the case management sessions/meetings and activities.
  • Ensure complete information from women, adolescent girls of GBV survivors and update documentation related to each individual case.
  • Provide psychosocial support to vulnerable persons, particularly survivors of gender-based violence at the community centers.
  • Referral to any other service (health, specialized PSS, legal, etc.), when requested by survivor and ensure accurate follow up of all referred cases.
  • Contribute and regularly update service mapping of service providers within the area of intervention to ensure that the GBV survivors is informed of all relevant and available services.
  • Receive referrals, take action and provide effective & accurate support to the survivors. .
  • Accompaniment to support services, police, or family as requested by survivor.
  • Keeps confidentiality on the case details of survivors in all aspects of the case management process and referral and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including community leaders and other humanitarian partners and service providers as needed for the case coordination and case conference.
  • Provide safety planning services. Provide only required data and information & support to the Data Clarke as well as GBVIMS focal person to produce report on GBV through GBVIMS procedure.
  • Complete weekly and monthly activity reports, according to guidance provided by the supervisor or PSS Officer including other related assigned duties.
