URGENT EMPLOYMENT NOTICE

Caritas Bangladesh (CB) is a national and non-profit development organization operating in Bangladesh since 1967. It has its Central Office in Dhaka and eight Regional Offices (Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Dinajpur, Khulna, Mymensingh, Rajshahi and Sylhet Region). CB is implementing 89 on-going projects covering 189 Upazilas focusing on six main priorities i.e i) Social Welfare for Vulnerable Communities (SWVC), ii) Education and Child Development, iii) Nutrition and Health Education, iv) Disaster Management, v) Ecological Conservation and Food Security (ECFS), and vi) Development of Indigenous Peoples.

Caritas Bangladesh (CB), Cox’s Bazar office is looking for suitable candidate for an immediate appointment as well as to prepare a panel list for Emergency Response to the Forcibly Displaced People of Myanmar in Bangladesh.

Position : Camp Focal Point
No of Position : 7 (Seven)
Job Location : Cox's Bazar
Salary : BDT 108,000 (Consolidated) per month.
Bonus : As per organizational policy
Job Nature : Temporary

Educational Qualification

The qualified candidate will have a master’s degree in Development Studies (MDS)/Social Science/Disaster Management/ Political science from recognized university with good academic track record.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

  • At Least 8 Years working experience in development agency, NGO.
  • Good interpersonal skill, useful in advocacy and positive approaching.
  • Networking and a good relationship with everyone
  • Good knowledge in MS Project and excellent in Microsoft excel formulas and data analysis, MS Office is mandatory and any other relevant software
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead WASH coordination meetings at the camp level and act the focal at CiCs meetings or communication.
  • Lead assessment and identify the gap jointly with the partners and develop the response in coordination with AFA.
  • Ensure the regular operation and maintenance done by the WASH implementing agencies.
  • Conduct meetings with Site Managers/CiC to ensure and document all the minutes and track the actions with partners
  • Based on the need assessment findings, coordinate with key sectors such as shelter, education, nutrition, and health on inter-sectoral camp issues. Provide technical support/guidance of construction and management of institutional WASH facilities are agreed upon and routinely monitor all aspects of WASH.
  • Report any WASH gaps or overlaps concerning WASH sector standards to sector Coordination team or AFA.
  • Ensure all the data collection tools used by the partners are relevant and lead to measure the agreed standards and quality. 
  • Strengthen the existing communication line and establish proper networking between the Area Focal Agency and WASH Sector Coordinators and Camp Focal Points.
  • Providing regular phone and email situation updates with the progress of WASH construction at the camp, including any bottlenecks in scale-up, through the AFA to WASH Sector Coordination Unit.
  • Conduct regular meetings with WASH partners to ensure they are submitting the sector reports.
  • Review the 4Ws for the specific camp, provide inputs, and validate it.
  • Coordinate with all third-party assessments, survey, and ensure the camp is represented with verified data.
  • Alert relevant sector focal points at camp level (SM, WASH, Health, Shelter, and Nutrition) of any public health-related warnings for disease outbreak.
  • Participate in camp level meetings actively and ensure all the information, issues and action points raised in the meeting well follow with clear feedback to the implanting partners.
  • Lead the mapping of the partners, discuss with AFA to sort out any outstanding issues related to the service coverage.
  • Provide advice to the implementing partners of safety and security issues that may occur.
  • Conduct capacity assessment within the partners and track any shortfall as a result of partners' presence and ensure the partner communicates their plan
