Care Nutrition Ltd. is the Bangladesh subsidiary of Frontier Nutrition, Inc., a U.S. company based in New Haven, Connecticut. We are looking for Head of Quality Assurance/ R&D who will take care of the entire quality assurance and new product research & development procedure of our brand “Hashi Khushi”. The selected person will report to the Managing Director. Keeping up to date with industry news to identify opportunities and new ideas.
Position: Head of R&D / Quality Assurance

Job Responsibilities:

  • Devise procedures to inspect and report quality issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to production and QA process SOPs.
  • Ensure testing of finished product according to critical parameters and batch release assessment.
  • Responsibly handle non-conforming products. Ensure proper documentation as per SOP.
  • Assure reliable and consistent production by checking processes and final output.
  • Maintain excellent hygiene & sanitation of factory premises.
  • Regularly cleaning and maintain equipment. Ensure all legal standards are met.
  • Execute stability and safety testing of finished products.
  • Responsible for overall development, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's Food Safety Management System (FSMS) & Safety Standards.
  • Successful local product development of lipid-based nutrient supplement (LNS) in Bangladesh with optimization of taste, nutrition and cost.
  • Continuously review and analyze the formulation ingredients, packaging & process required for cost effectiveness and improvement in product quality, stability and shelf life.
  • Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
  • Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
  • Manage corrective action process on quality/food safety issue to avoid re-occurrence with continuous improvement.
  • Modify the process where necessary to improve the product safety.
  • Develops quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; monitoring inventories
  • Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintains and improves product quality by completing product, compliance, and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints.
  • Lead a team of Quality officers, analysts, and technicians
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.
  • Overall monitoring the third-party pest control activity on the plant.
  • Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality
  • Prepare internal SOP's based on Quality & Safety Standards.
  • Work on product stability and shelf life extension studies. 
  • Identify and proactive solve quality issues by collecting and analyzing quality data.
  • Manage and monitor quality of packing & production.

Educational Qualification:

  • MSc or BSc in Food Engineering / Food Technology and Nutrition/ Food Science and Technology

Experience Requirements

  • 6 to 8 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Quality Assurance & Operation
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):  Manufacturing (FMCG), Food (Packaged)

Additional Requirements

  • Experience in Managing Production, Maintenance and Projects
  • Sound knowledge in FMCG production and process
  • Proven experience as a quality assurance manager or relevant role.
  • Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.
  • Computer knowledge for general application.
  • Willing to Work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills in both English and Bangla.
