The Oporajita Phase-II project represents a collective impact initiative bringing together multiple partners to create systemic change in the Ready-Made Garment sector of Bangladesh. Building on the learnings from Phase I, this phase focuses on expanding women workers' leadership capacity, institutionalizing gender and climate-responsive systems in factories, and mobilizing a private sector mentors pool for career advancement. The project addresses the challenges women workers face due to automation, digitization, and changing global trade policies by equipping them with essential soft skills, green readiness capabilities, and leadership competencies. Through a Just Transition lens, the initiative works to ensure that women workers are not left behind in the evolving garment industry but instead become active agents in shaping their own futures and workplace environments.
The Trainer – Soft Skills will play a pivotal role in delivering the capacity-building interventions that form the foundation of this transformative project. The Trainer will facilitate factory-based training sessions for women garment workers on soft skills, leadership, communication, negotiation, and green readiness, while also conducting specialized training for factory management and human resources personnel on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion practices. Working across multiple factory locations, the Trainer will be responsible for implementing participatory and practice-oriented training methodologies that accommodate diverse learning needs, including highly visual and interactive modules for non-literate workers. The Trainer will provide close support to factory in-house trainers through Training of Trainers sessions, assist in developing and adapting training materials, and ensure the quality and consistency of all capacity-building activities. The position requires strong facilitation skills, the ability to build effective relationships with factory stakeholders at all levels, and a commitment to promoting women's economic empowerment and workplace dignity. |

Responsibility # 1: Training Organization and Facilitation in the factories |

- Facilitate factory-based training on soft skills, green readiness, leadership development, and climate-resilient workplace preparation for women garment workers.
- Conduct specialized training sessions for factory management, human resources personnel, and line supervisors on Gender Equality and Social Inclusion practices and gender-responsive workplace policies.
- Develop and adapt training modules and innovative learning materials, including highly visual and interactive tools for non-literate and low-literate participants.
- Organize and facilitate on-the-job training and supervisory exposure programs with a focus on efficiency, adaptability, and eco-conscious workplace practices.
- Conduct aspiration workshops and coordinate aptitude testing to identify suitable candidates for advanced leadership training.
- Facilitate Training of Trainers sessions for factory personnel to build their capacity and ensure sustainability of training initiatives.
- Ensure consistent availability of logistics and materials for practice-based learning by workers with support from factory management.
- Organize graduation ceremonies to recognize and celebrate the achievements of workers who complete training programs.
- Prepare comprehensive training reports, participant profiles, pre-test and post-test assessments, and case studies documenting training impact and learnings.

Responsibility # 2: Stakeholder Engagement and Quality Assurance |

- Conduct buy-in meetings with factory management to assess scope, align expectations, and secure ownership of training plans and implementation approaches.
- Maintain regular communication with factory management teams, focal persons, and local service providers to ensure timely and effective project implementation.
- Support the establishment and functioning of Worker Protection Committees and Anti-Harassment Committees within factories.
- Facilitate workshops and sensitization sessions for male colleagues and supervisors on gender-responsive practices and inclusive workplace environments.
- Coordinate with the Women's Leadership Forum and private sector mentors to arrange mentoring sessions for selected workers.
- Monitor training quality through observation, participant feedback collection, and follow-up visits to ensure enabling environments for women workers.
- Liaise with factory stakeholders to facilitate the integration of GESI practices and climate-smart policies into factory systems and procedures.
- Organize campaigns and events to observe relevant international days, including International Women's Day and the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence.

Responsibility # 3: Monitoring, Documentation, and Reporting |

- Support the conduct of pre-training and post-training assessments to measure knowledge and skill development among participants.
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance, completion rates, and participant progress in the project Management Information System.
- Prepare and submit timely training-related reports to the Project Manager (Soft Skills) and contribute to monthly and quarterly project reporting.
- Document success stories, lessons learned, and best practices for knowledge management and communication purposes.
- Collect and incorporate participant feedback to continuously improve training content, methodology, and delivery approaches.
- Support baseline and endline data collection activities and contribute to monitoring and evaluation processes.
- Participate in project reflection meetings, quarterly reviews, and learning workshops to share experiences and contribute to adaptive management.

| III. Reporting to: |
| Directly reports to Project Manager - Soft Skills and works under the overall guidance of the Team Leader. |
| IV Working Condition: |
| The position is based on project field locations (Gazipur/Savar/Narayanganj) with frequent visits to factory sites. The Trainer – Soft Skills will work closely with factory management and workers on production floors and in training facilities. The role requires flexibility to accommodate factory schedules and may occasionally require weekend or evening training sessions to align with worker availability. |
| V. Qualification: |
- Master’s degree in social science, development Studies, Gender Studies, Education, or equivalent subjects.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in developing training methodology and conducting training programs, preferably in the garment sector or with women workers.
- Proven track record of work in the Ready-Made Garment sector of Bangladesh, particularly with women workers and capacity-building initiatives.
- Strong facilitation background including participatory training methods, adult learning principles, and experience with diverse literacy levels.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training on soft skills such as leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making.
- Experience in Training of Trainers and capacity building of in-house facilitators.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple training sessions simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written Bangla and English.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders including factory management, workers, and external partners.
- Computer literacy including proficiency in MS Office applications and experience with digital data collection tools is an advantage.
- Ability to think creatively and translate creative thinking into tangible outputs.
- Ability to generate commitment and build consensus among others and gain support.
- A true team player who works effectively with project colleagues, factory personnel, and partner organizations to achieve common goals.

Compensation
