CARE Bangladesh is implementing the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies’ (MACP) “Promoting Disaster Ready Inclusive Preparedness towards Adaptation (PRODRIPTA)This three-year program aims to foster inclusive community preparedness and resilience through the combination of disaster-ready communities and accountable institutions in the northern char district of Gaibandha and the central coast district of Patuakhali. The MACP’s PRODRIPTA has a multifaceted approach to make a meaningful, measurable, and sustainable difference in a defined period of time in the eight (08) selected unions of Gaibandha Sadar and Sundarganj of Gaibandha and Rangabali and Kalapara of Patuakhali Districts.

The Program Associate will be based in Gaibandha Sadar and will be responsible for collection and collation of the project documents from the two distinct locations. S/he will also communicate and collaborate with the Technical Coordinators to draft knowledge and visibility materials as well as compile reports. S/he will directly report to the Technical Coordinator – PRODRIPTA (North), Humanitarian and Climate Action Program and liaise regularly with the Technical Coordinator – PRODRIPTA (South) to ensure smooth implementation and flow of information across the project.

II. Responsibilities and Tasks:   % of Time
Responsibility # 1: Reporting, communication, develop and manage different project related documents

  • Assist drafting monthly, semi-annual and annual reports against plan and contribute to the Project.
  • Review monthly progress reports and provide feedback to the respective partner staff.
  • Timely plan and initiate all pre and post intervention assessments
  • Support to prepare presentation, drafting modules, event reports, briefing papers etc.
  • Draft IEC materials in line with the project objectives and deliveries.
  • Develop case stories, newsletters, designing various creative communication materials on project activities for advocacy and dissemination such as flyers, posters, booklet, or any other IEC/ BCC materials.

 

Responsibility # 2: Facilitate program activities implementation
40%
  • Assist in capacity development of the partner staff on the project activities
  • Communicate with partner staff to monitor the regular implementation process at field level
  • Facilitate training session at community level
  • Facilitate implementation of green solution and other project activities in the field level in coordination with partner
  • Contributes to knowledge creation by continually documenting lessons learned, good practices, and replicable strategies, and actively shares this knowledge.

 

Responsibility # 3: Provide administrative support for field activities, including communication and documentation

  • Provide administrative support to the program team in the communication and development aspect, including scheduling meetings, maintaining databases, and managing correspondence.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining communication, such as brochures, presentations, and reports.
  • Collaborate with other staff members and departments to ensure alignment and coherence in messaging and branding.
  • Participate in program interventions and monitor the evolving communication gaps.
  • Monitoring and reporting project progress according to prescribe tools.

V. Qualification:
  • Must have mindset of work in Field Office of Gaibandha.
  • Previous experience of 1-2 year in DRR related and climate action project will be preferred.
  • Practical experience of managing at least 1-2 MACP funding projects will be preferred.
  • Prior experience in green and water solution-related activities will be preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Disaster Management, International Relations, or a related field. From a reputed Public/ Private University is mandatory.
  • Communication and networking with multi-sectoral actors.
  • Excellent facilitation skills.
  • Good report writing in both Bangla and English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Internet browsing is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude, creativity, and willingness to contribute ideas and initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

Compensation

Monthly consolidated salary: BDT 35,000.
